I have an Ontario drivers license, SIN, and OHIP thanks to my NAFTA visa. When I get PR, will I have to go to Service Canada and Service Ontario to get a new SIN, OHIP card, and drivers license?

Funny you asked that, some of my family was born in the US and became "naturalized" citizens and we discussed that. No, you get the one id and that's yours for life. Well, the DL is until you're in your 70's and have to take another test

It was so anticlimactic.
Went to border guard from US side, they asked ME some questions (how much did you spend, etc), then sent us inside.
Gave paperwork to immigration, sat for 5 min, came back up and got passport back, went to customs and gave them B4/B4A, sat for 5 min, then left.
Took about 15 minutes total.

It took longer to get INTO the states, haha.

As parker24 said, you can keep your existing DL. Your SIN number will change (visitors get temporary ones that start with '9' and expire based on your authorization to work in Canada) so you'll need to go to Service Canada to get your new one. I think your OHIP card will stay the same but I'd go to Service Ontario so they can reflect your new status in the system also.

That's a great idea and we thought about it too; however, they changed the process. The information web page was updated on Feb 11th, 2013. We got an email asking for it on Feb 9th, 2013. Aren't they sneaky?!?! They are now officially asking for the applicant to get it done. Yeah!!! hahaha. We are just riding the wave at this point. We are actually happy that our case is being processed after just 6 months in the queue and only after 4.5 months since sponsorship approval. We live together and although we want to move to Canada as soon as possible we do not have the pains that many other applicants have while being are apart. We were told that we should be able to have the police certificate in 5 to 7 days (though we cannot request one until next monday), plus a few more days for legalization, translation and delivery to us.

Ah, yes, the rules evolve to reflect local changes to requirements (CIC only processes it for applicants when they can't do it themselves). Luckily it sounds like you can get it really quickly so that's really good news

Service Canada for a new (permanent, not starting with 9) SIN yes. You would have to go to the appropriate office in Ontario to deal with OHIP - presumably to make it permanent. I didn't have to do anything with respect to my driver's licence. When I renew it (in 2017) I'll show them my PR card or Canadian passport as proof of status, but nothing until then. Of course, that might vary by province.

Congratulations - I had pretty much the same experience (including getting into the US taking longer, as I had to go to secondary to get them to stamp my passport.) I agree it's anticlimactic, especially given how much work it can be to GET the damned thing in the first place.

It ALWAYS takes longer to enter the States--we're so special, don't you know! ;D

6 months and 3 days after they received our application, we just got the passport request! Interview waived. We sent our application to CPP-O, it was supposedly sent to LA for stage 2, but the passport copies are supposed to go to CPP-O. I'm impressed with how fast this has gone so far - much faster than advertised!

Honestly, I credit this forum for some of that. I read tonnes here about how to submit the application and I just have to assume that our application wouldn't have been as organized, complete, and correct as it was if we hadn't had this guidance. I still stick with my theory that the application itself is an IQ/effectiveness test - if you can't put together a good application, or pay someone to do so, Canada has already weeded you out.
