Once the application reaches Ottawa, it's been super fast. Most of the people since Feb already have DM. And we are starting to see quite a few from the first half of March start to get em as well.

Trudeau and Liberals have kept their word on immediate family unification.

Oh wow that is super exciting. I was curious because my time line is pretty much the same as that user even down to the day of SA and file transfer. Hope I get mine soon!

I submitted a request asking for info since I have not heard anything since February and I received "There is no record of your application available at this time."

What does this mean??? We submitted in January and they requested more info in Feb so they did receive the application but now there is no record??

as someone suggested in the other thread, try using the sponsor's information, not just the applicants. ECAS doesn't always work for both people, and if you've only had sponsor approval so far, then it's likely the applicant's application hasn't been linked yet. The sponsor should be able to see information about both applications (assuming they have been linked to ECAS).

I don't think we've ever figured out why exactly some people go through so fast. Have any of you had a document request, or anything unusual in your application? The only conclusion I can come to is the applicants who are married without kids and no complex histories seem to go through fastest. But that's just from anecdotal evidence here.

Married without kids and no complex history, and have been waiting almost 10 months now.

more than likely it's related to the applicant being a US PR, not citizen. this is quite common since CIC still needs to confirm background/security from a person's home country as well as current country of residence (which can be slow depending on where the person is from).

as stated above, another reason why some get through quicker is because US CITIZENS tend to see faster processing than US residents from other countries.

from my observation it seems to be seasonal. when i went through march/april/may applications processed much quicker than previous year nov/dec and jan/feb applications. this seasonality seems consistent with this year too. not sure if it's related to application volume or internal directives.

There are plenty of US citizens who end up waiting longer.
