After we saw DM post in ecas on Monday Feb 15th sent an email to Ottawa to make sure the DM was good. Just got email back stating that indeed the COPR is on the way and even better it was dated Feb 11th but ecas did not update until the 15th. Means we should get it any day now!!

I just updated Ottawa thread - I got my COPR today (Tuesday)! YAY! I'm currently deciding between Rainbow Bridge landing versus office appointment landing. I'm living in Ontario on visitor status. (Implied status now, as I had a visitor status extension application in).

Anyone have ideas or suggestions?

I'd personally just go with an actual crossing, suc as the Rainbow Bridge. Sometimes, it can take at least weeks to get an appointment. Landing at the border is more flexible. It's just my personal opinion though ;D Congrats on the COPR.

Hello, I am a Canadian citizen and looking to sponsor my husband, an american citizen to Canada. I am currently pregnant and will be going on maternity leave around june, therefore will be taking Maternity EI. Will this affect our application process? I have not send my application yet because I got pregnant and I am wondering if it will make any difference since I would need to show proof of how I can financially support him. If this will affect the application then I would have to wait one year until I get back to my job and then sponsor him ... please help. thank you kindly.

Congrats on your pregnancy! There is no income requirement for spousal sponsorship so your leave should not affect your application. However, if the baby is born while the application is processing you will have to send CIC a request to add your dependent child to the application. It might be a good idea to add a note to your application that you are pregnant, but an unborn child isn't technically a dependent so it shouldn't change anything.

I have moved and settle in Canada, toronto. I landed in October, and I just found a job that will start in March. I have a car that still register in US and will end his lease in March, I will finance in the US because I passed the alloted millages. I did all the paperwork when I landed, just need to complet the import of the car. anyone have experience what is the process? Can a Finance car be imported to CAnada? Can I sell it later? what paperwork is needed?

Wow! Congratulations! I'm just getting my FBI background check now, I sent that in October =/. (It took 18+ weeks to process, because apparently they got my packet out of order with the rest from that month).

4 months, 18 days. Nice, considering there was the whole Christmas/New years holidays and the 25,000 refugees in between. Congrats!

Thanks for the congratulations
Now if I can just figure out how to land. I am visiting in Canada with a return flight to Texas in May.
I think I can get the housesitter to mail me copr when it arrives. Then do I fly to Calgary and flagpole and return to Canada the same day? I am in Fort St John, BC so I think Calgary is about a 1 hour And 45 minute flight away. So just fly to Calgary, go to immigration as if I am entering US, tell them I am flag poling, they will send me to landing office and then I go back to immigration Canadian side and fly back to BC?

We just received DM today! We just checked the ECAS system this afternoon. My wife and I are very happy and excited! No lines have been added to our file and the last one is still 3. Medical Results received... but the main page now shows Decision Made instead of In Process.

We are US Outland and applied September 1, 2015. Good luck to everyone else awaiting DM and COPR!!

Just wanted to update everyone we got our COPR Saturday in the mail, was mailed out Feb 15th from Ottawa to Florida. My wife will be landing in late July.

Plus one for showing when it was mailed. I was wondering how long it takes after DM.
Congrats!
