Decision made on Jan 19, 2016 for hubby's PR on ECAS. Criminal Rehab approved Nov. 8/15. Still nervous. His original medical was done Oct 1, 2014 and our law firm stated his FBI clearance should have expired in Dec., 2015.

We did send an email with additional evidence that a second FBI clearance had been submitted, but received DM before we could send them the second clearance. I just hope they automatically extended his medicals and were fine with original FBI clearance. I wish the online system would say what the decision actually is. The waiting in between is so stressful. Thank you guys for all of your help and support during this process!!!

I can definitely tell you from personal experience that if a new medical was required, they would have let you know before the application went to decision made. And I'm sure that with everything else you had to go through for the rehab approval that a new FBI check was also probably unnecessary. So congratulations sure sound like they are in order!

He would have had an interview if there were any more problems, so congrats are in order!

Our case was 20 months...FBI was never extended and we never had to submitted any other background checks...medical was extended and more requested more but they were not able to open the attachment and with the help of everyone under the sun including the CIC dr we had to mail the meds...FBI clearance done up front and so were the Meds...March 2014...We had to have an interview Nov 3rd 2015 in LA and and were advised at the interview that everything was approved but CIC had the meds just not reviewed( reviewed Nov 5th, 2015)....I think DM came around Dec 12th 2015 but we had been emailing the Case Manager everything other day and knew everything that was going on..the reason it took so long after the Meds is they changed the photo sizes and we had to sent new ones( we over nighted them)...we hand COPR in hand Dec 23 2015....Ours was Criminal Rehab too no lawyer...

Congrats Chelly!

Has anyone heard anything about what day's applications the FBI is processing right now? Last I heard it was September 28, and I haven't seen any updates in the FBI thread since.

My application was sent Aug 27th, SA approval Nov 2, started processing Nov 6th and nothing since. VO is Ottawa outland. Haven't heard a word since.

You probably have still a little while to go. I'm a June 1st applicant and we just got COPR. You can always order notes if you're curious to know more in regards to your file.

Starting to get anxious. They gave me 60 days for my FBI clearance. I had already sent it in a week before they asked. Now it's been 60 days since they've asked, and I don't have a DM, any update, or any information. I sent them a case specific inquiry and they wrote me back a generic letter saying, basically, don't send us case specific inquiries. I'm very scared that a DM now would be a rejection - based on that they either never got my clearance somehow, or they had it and lost it.

Haha! Keep your head high :) It's all worth it. And if sewing and baking helps, then go at it!! Bake your little heart out!

Hubby sent his FBI application via express post Sept 18th and just received it in the mail yesterday (Jan 25). Approximately 18 weeks...

April 1, 2015 applicant. Received COPR today.
I'm already in Canada as a visitor. Do I need to leave the country and return for landing process? Or can I perhaps just go to pearson airport and see if I can see an immigration officer?

You can make an appointment to land at an inland office.
