There seems to be mixed information as far as Ottawa's pace is concerned, moreover I don't remember seeing lots of September applicants on the Ottawa spreadsheet (I might be wrong though).

There are 14 of us. Two have DM.

I sent in an application that was received March 30th, the FBI certificate was dated for December 18th, would it be a good idea to go ahead and send in another one incase the refuse the one we have? ( especially since there is such a back log now)

I wouldn't do this unless they ask for it, imo. It's not likely that they will refuse your FBI check. They sometimes lose them, as in Maria's case, but that's still uncommon.

Your police cert is over 3 months old, they will most likely request a new on. I would definitely resubmit to the FBI for another report. Get a jump in that ridiculous queue, this way when SA comes through you can mail it off to the VO to join your app.

Saria, they recently changed the requirements in April. FBI Certificates are now valid for 6 months instead of 3, and must be in CIC's hands in 6 mos to be valid

However, I missed the applicant's dates~~!! D'oh. I didn't see that you had recvd it in December. I would re-apply now. Ignore my first comment! I think you just missed the new 6 month rule, since your PCC was expired when you sent it in they may ask for another one. They may not, but with the long waits I would go ahead and send it after Sponsorship Approval as Saria suggested

I'm happy to see it was extended!!! That needed to be done a long time ago. Now if CIC would wise up and accept tamper proof channeler reports..... Oh and even more annoying, the Express Entry workers are instructed to email the report NOT to mail it in to Ottawa.... WTF makes them so special?

FBI certificate has to be valid when the application is received. It is only valid for 3 months. Honestly, after seeing what i have been through. I wish I could have ordered a new one and sent it in again just to be safe. They lost mine and mine was actually valid.

If yours was dated 12/18... then 1/18 = 1 month .... 2/18 = 2 months .... 3/18 = 3 months... You app was not received by 3/18. There is a strong possibility they might ask for a new one. There is also a possibility they might not. I would NOT take the chance. The FBI is taking 14+ weeks to send out new clearances.

I submitted my app on 9/10/14 with a clearance that was issued 08/14/14. They emailed me on 05/06/15 saying they cannot process my app with out my FBI clearnace. They LOST IT!... So now I have to wait 14 weeks to get a new one unless my husbands MP does something. So yeah, maybe I am being pessimistic but I would go ahead and order one 14 weeks before your 240 days since app received. That seems to be about the processing time for Ottawa right now.

EDIT: I see above its now valid for 6 months. I guess you are ok then. Man I don't know.. I might be bias right now bc Ottawa F/U my app!

I'm seriously half debating throwing my husband into the Express Entry route. This is out of control how Ottawa touched our applications for 2 weeks, and now it's back to crickets, I bet for months. It's NOT ok to focus on one pool of applicants, for jobs, when there are thousands being laid off in the oils sands. PLUS, throw in the factor of that Canadian Exp bull*censored word* where 2/3 of the "qualified" people they issue Federally skilled worker visas too, will end up working at Timmies. I'm at my ropes end today, no patience for this BS.

This is the greatest news I've heard yet. Here's to common sense winning in an otherwise senseless process! ;D

I just got my wife's entire CIC file from ATIP. It took a month, but they sent it.

When I log into the CIC website with her UCI, I get two lines of info: Sponsor Approval and Medical Results Received.

Her CIC file is 31 pages long.

I'm Canadian resident sponsoring my US partner.

I only included 2012,2013 Option C + 1 yr worth of paystub instead of 2014 Option C.

The infinite wait starts...
