Sending our application out today. Sponsoring my Common-Law partner, I am a Canadian Citizen and she is an American Citizen. We got our FBI check back just in time for when we were planning to submit (we just became common law at the very end of April).

Proof of relationship included bills and letters with both our names at the same address, rent receipts, lots of pictures, boarding passes from our trips to see each other over the years, as well as various other things (such as proof she brought her cat up the Canada to stay long term, and the 2 statutory letters).

You should look at the range on the Ottawa spreadsheet. The last few people who reported receiving their landing visas had total processing times of about 240 days, so 8-9 months.

However, processing times can and do fluctuate over time. Those who applied at this time last year (May 2014) had only four months from application to landing visa, but those applying in September are only now seeing movement in Ottawa.

Sponsorship approval happens in Mississauga, and those applications are tracked in the monthly spreadsheet. The March-April spreadsheet shows that some of those applicants are still waiting for sponsorship approval, with times ranging between one and two months. Again, processing time varies; I was an October applicant that did not receive SA until January.

Make sure you send it to the Robert Speck Parkway address if you're mailing via private courier :)

Congrats! Now you can take a deep breath!

Ottawa is always in flux. 1 month for SA isn't accurate though, right now it's currently 62 days according to their table (they update it weekly). People from July/August 2014 are currently getting PR, though =] 2 people from September so. It could speed up or slow down, but I think you're pretty safe saying 7-10 months

Whew, got my CSQ (certificat de selection du Quebec) in the mail this week. I was fretting and stressed out about it for about 1-2 weeks, because I expected to get it within a month, but when a month passed, my worrying kicked into gear. I mentally added a week's delay due to Easter/Holy Week, but still....

The actual CSQ is dated April 30th, but I didn't receive it in the mail until the 5th, slow weekend, I guess.

Now, if I understand the wording on my CSQ letters properly, I can hold onto both my copy and CIC's copy until/unless CIC requests their copy, since MIDI wrote that they have informed CIC of their decision/approval.

I sent my PCCs to CIC in the end of March. No news is good news, right? I guess CIC receives sooooo much mail per day that it takes them at least a month or longer before someone can even open and scan their mail into the system.

So, now I wait... I try not to check my status (ECAS) more than once a week. It's less disappointment/week that way.

Waiting and trying not to second-guess if I've sent enough "proof of relationship to sponsor" or if I've signed and dated everything properly, or if I got the address of someplace I lived 10 years ago wrong....

*sigh*

CPC-O asked us to send a copy of the CSQ, then they asked again for it to be snail-mailed the second time. By this time we actually had it, so we scanned it and emailed it and the application was finally approved about four months later. I was almost at the point of mailing them a hard copy, but apparently the scanned copy was fine.

Thanks. We're still sorting out the RAMQ and SAAQ regulations, but we hope to get a health card and driver's license as soon as we can.

I sure hope things pick up speed... we just submitted Outland USA today, and 5 months sounds much more appealing than 10+.

I think it's the new Express Entry program that started in January. I feel like Ottawa is popping off a few FS applications here and there, between rushing the Federally Skilled workers through.

More than 10 months? Who's telling you this. The timeline I'm seeing are give or take 8-10 months but never more than 10 (unless missing documents or other issues).
