That's good information Parker and CG. But to spend more money....ish. I just laid down more $ for more computer ink...and then priced out the local paper to see if they'd print from my SD card, beings I had to take pics of the FB & Skype IMs for the last year....80 bucks!! And the medical next week for 300... then to apply is over 1000..... OMG!

Yes, indeed, immigration isn't cheap. My first application's cost to date was just over $14,000 (that was my FSW application for which I now have a court hearing in October). My second application (the spousal one, which I prepared myself) has so far been just over $1700. If I didn't have a REASON to stay in Canada, I certainly wouldn't keep spending the money.

I know what you mean! We have spent about $2800 for immigration, medical exam, passports for all 5 of us, our 3 kids Canadian citizenship certificates, certified copies of all our birth certificates, passports and marriage licenses... oh and not to forget the 300 for mailing everything (twice for the immigration paperwork after it got sent back to us) and we still have a move to Canada to pay for... Then sad part is even if it costs us another $4000 to get moved and what not it will still be cheeper then the quota we got from the lawyer we talked to about the cost for me to immigrate to the USA!

hey, we didn't have to. we were already planning to as that is where i am from, and we were having an anniversary party there. it was just perfect timing that i got my PPR in time and i was able to do all the paperwork at the LA office while we were there.

The drive up and down the Pacific coast can be quite nice, as well, especially this time of year (although I was in LA 10 days ago and it was raining and then humid. I thought I might be in Florida!)

ah we were there the same time, and yes, the weather then was very unusual for LA. we drove some of the oregon coast, very much recommended if anyone is planning on going south on the west coast

My husband told me that my PR card came in today! That makes it about 10 weeks since I landed. He's bringing it to the airport with him when he picks me up on the 1st.

Leave it blank, it should allow that. As for the medical thing, uhh that's WEIRD.. Maybe she got mixed up. You need Appendix C and more than 2 photos. As they need one for the actual doctor, one for x-rays, one for blood work, and I'm pretty sure one more. I know in my husbands case they needed 4. Take schedule A anyway, but I doubt they will need that haha.

I live in Buffalo but I'm getting my medical exam done July 30th in Niagara Falls, ON. The lady said to bring 5 passport sized photos, though she mentioned nothing about my passport. I'm bringing it anyway along with my forms, just to be safe. But I believe it mentioned the Appendix C.

BTW- I have my medical on Monday. And I had my pics taken at Walmart yesterday. TAKE THE FORM WITH YOU from the Instruction manual, because THEY ARE NOT THE SAME AS PASSPORT PHOTOS!!! They are smaller. I didn't and when I told the gal is was for Immigration MEDICAL, she took Passport size pics anyways and now, I have to go back to Walmart before my Medical (3 hr drive away @ 10:30 am) and have them redo them. She said, for free. Let's hope so!!
