My wife received her COPR today FedEx, from our lawyer. CIC sent it there by instead of directly to her US address. We are hoping for her to land sometime in September. Can someone update the spreadsheet pls!

Does it always go to the US address?

No, it goes to the applicant's address unless otherwise requested or specified.

I had mine sent to my company's US address and then forwarded to me in Canada, as LA's only option was US Postal Express mail - prepaid or regular mail. I don't like the idea of my passport wandering around in regular mail across the border. It only took the USPS 48 hours to deliver a "guaranteed next day delivery" letter... FedEx from the US to Canada did vastly better, arriving at 1:30 pm on a Saturday afternoon (sometimes Saturday delivery is SO worth it!)

US outland applicants' thread :)

CDN sponsoring an US citizen spouse.
- spouse lived in a different country as a child, not a citizen of that country, does spouse still need Crimminal record check from that country ?
- sponsor legally separated in process of getting divorced now. can sponsor marry in US or need to wait for divorce certificate before marring spouse in US and sponsoring her.
- are waiting times really 20-30 months ?

My wife lived in Switzerland for 2yrs and yes u need criminal check done. Im pretty sure u need the divorce certificate and the wait times are much faster for Outland application, depending on the complexity u could get here as soon as 3-5months!

Does anyone know where you can get Sponsorship photos done in the US? I'm sadly finding that most places will only do passport sizes, no "custom" sizes auuugh. Any leads would be great, thank youu <3

I went to AAA and got passport photos done. The first set is free for members, so i would just got back different days to get more sets.

i did not measure the pictures, and they looked like the instruction so i sent them in. I was never asked to redo them, and they have been used for my COPR. so as long as the passport pictures look like the instructions, they probably won't get rejected. mine weren't.

I was in a similar situation
- Yes if the Spouse was over 18 years in a foreign country and lived more than 6 months at a strech
- Get the divorce certificate first, You cant get married in a US jurisdiction without being legally divorced/annulled first
- No US Canada spouse cases are getting processed in 4 -5 months provided everything is sent upfront

Good to know, thanks. I think I'd still rather find someone who'll do the custom size as it's a smaller photo than a passport photo, BUT, that's really reassuring to know that they have accepted your passport pictures as ok ^o^ <3

pretty sure the passport photos from aaa are 2x2 as indicated in the instructions, they don't look "bigger" than that.

I went to a Walmart photocenter to get my photos done. I had told them what I needed them to be and they didn't do them right the first time.

I took them back with my receipt, along with a piece of paper specifying from the CIC website what the pictures needed to be and they did it again for no charge. Correctly.

Don't be surprised if you get a letter from Sydney to have your photos redone for your PR card. The CIC information sheet is pretty specific about what size the photographs need to be, crown to chin, so on and so forth. They are not the same as passport photos.

the pictures of me are the same as the photo in the instructions, and they are more close up than the picture in my passport, so i guess we'll see what happens. :)

I was so 'anal' about the entire situation that after I got mine done, I came home and measured crown to chin so on and so forth just to be sure LOL
