Hi @Arpana31, could you please clarify if we need to wait for the actual physical driver's license that comes in the mail and then take a copy of that and submit in PR update application
OR
The temp thing that they give immediately in service ontario is sufficient for the PR name update application?

I don't know the answer but unless it's urgent I'd suggest waiting for the proper driver's license to avoid any issues. (The problem with the temporary one is it's only a complete driver's license together with the old one).
Note of course that I believe in all cases they mean to submit copies of the original unless otherwise specified.
Applied to update PR Card with all necessary supporting name change documents including Passport, Driver's License, Health Card, Marriage Certificate. It's been 4 months now with no updates, no responses for Webforms. She's able to travel in and out with her current PR without any problem but would be great if IRCC send the updated PR Card so all the documents are in sync. :/
Hey, did you end up getting the updated PR Card? I have a similar situation with my PR card and I'm going to apply to update the card with the new name. In the application, IRCC asks to send a copy fo the current PR card if my renewing my card or a photo of my destroyed PR card if I'm replacing my current PR card? I was confused by this. Did you have to destroy the PR card to get the name change processed for the PR card? Thanks!
Hi, yes we got the PR card with name change within 5 months of applying at that time until then we were able to use the old PR card without any issues so don't destroy the old one as you will need it if you have travel plans while you are waiting for the updated PR card with new name. After you get the new PR card, you can then destroy the old one.

I updated my passport with my spouse surname based upon my Indian Marriage Certificate as I had single name before marriage, so all my Canadian documents have single name , mentioned in Family name field .
Name on PR card - ABC
Name on Indian Passport - ABC XYZ
Name on indian marriage certificate - ABC
I tried to update my documents in Canada like the SIN , Driving License etc but they told me I cannot apply as the single name is in my Last Name filed and so I cannot assume my spouse last name on the basis on my marriage certificate and will have to go through the whole process of Ontario Change of Name and only than I can apply for new driving license and new PR card.
So,I have applied for my change of name document but the processing time is 4 months .
Question - How did you update all your documents based upon the marriage certificate and Indian passport, which service ontario did you visit?
Question 2- I need to travel to Indian in November, will I face any issue boarding the flight back to Canada with my updated Indian passport and PR card ? I have my old passport stapled to new one as it has a valid USA visa. What all documents should I carry along for smooth travel?

Which name will be used for buying the plane ticket? ABC or ABC XYZ? Are you returning to Canada directly by flight?
I still need to book flights , I believe the name on passport should be used to book flight , so ABC XYZ
