Hello,

I am a PhD student and I'm going to Vancouver for 2 months as part of my program. I have a drink driving conviction in the UK so I presume applying for an eTa would be a waste of time. I am a Polish citizen and currently studying/living in Germany. The information on Canada's immigration website about TRPs seems confusing and I have a few questions.

What documents should I provide regarding the offence, would a DBS certificate be sufficient? (This is a police record from the UK, states charges, conviction etc.)
Do the documents required need to be original i.e, I send my actual passport or can they be photocopies?
Which consulate would be the best to send my application to German, Polish or UK?

Thanks a lot

Maybe start by clarifying how long ago was the DUI conviction as believe that has some influence on whether still inadmissable.

It happened around a year ago so It's definitely still inadmissible, forgot to mention that.
