I am planning to move to Canada and want to import my Dodge Journey. Can anyone provide break down cost to import a vehicle (Duty, GST, provincial tax, green levy, RIV fee, HST/PST) . I did some research and have some idea, but like to hear some hands on experience so that I can estimate an exact cost.
-Is there a duty if I am importing vehicle vehicles from the US?
-Do vehicles imported from US need to be inspected before registration? If so what's the cost of inspection?
-Is there a registration fee?
Have I missed anything?
Have anyone had any bad experiences importing a vehicle either at the border or in Canada. What if any document is missing or if I have missed any step of the import process, would there be any issues at the border or inside Canada?
