I'm planning on importing my 2004 Ford Ranger because I like it, it's in good condition and I don't want the hassle of selling it and then replacing it in Canada. I know it's not subject to regulation by RIV, but is there any reason in particular that it wouldn't be admissible? This is what I received from RIV:
...you can import these types of vehicles into Canada if they meet Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) entry requirements. At the border, officers will:
- establish its non-regulated status due to age,
- inspect for possible soil contaminants,
- examine the ownership documents,
- collect taxes and/or duties if applicable and,
- determine admissibility according to other Canadian customs regulations that may apply.
The first four items are in order, but what other customs regulations might this opaque response refer to?
