Wow cant believe ur husband sent his passport in jan 2010 and now ur getting a response I just sent mine in march and I feel like this is taking for ever, in march they asked for my husbands passport, police certificate, and permenant resident fee, they say when they ask for this they will issue a visa but who know how the hell long as well I wanted to ask u a question did they ask for ur husbands police certificate and as well did u get it translated in english or did u send the original, I just sent the orginial no translation, my lawyer said they dont need it but who knows, thanks

I know it was soo frustrating, I hope yours doesnt take as long!

Well his costa rican one we had translated into english, the RCMP one obviously didnt need it. Did they request an RCMP criminal record check as well? If not yours will definitly be much faster than ours.

well they asked for the rcmp but I did while we were in canada before we left to costa rica and the lawyer sent out to them and the certificado de delincuencia the police certificate from costa rica I never got it translated my lawyer says it was fine I hope this wont cause a delay and how come if they ask for the rcmp it take longer?? can u clarify this thanks

do you have a lawyer in canada or in costa rica? If immigration requests the RCMP criminal record check you HAVE to do it using the forms and instructions they gave you, you cant just go to the office and get one the same day at the office in Canada. They have to have the persons fingerprints etc. SO if they requested it get the instructions from your lawyer and go do it.

The RCMP criminal record check (outland) from central america takes up to 120 days to process, sometimes more because they have so many to process. The RCMP lost my husbands the first time, so he had to re-do it which is why it took so long with us

I really hope they did I feel like emailing them but then I feel like its too soon and then there gonna say she soo annoying lol soo all give it another 2 weeks or so,and I am a born and raised canadian, but my parents are spanish mom from honduras and my dad from ecuador, and hubby from tico landia, perez zeledon I have never been out of canada till now and I really miss home but maybe something wll happen soon how about you where are you from???

i guess, Guatemala VO provides news and updates at least,

Venezuela- Caracas VO completely no news have provided to us since 2010 Sept.. :'(

only thing we can do, bring hope and stay positive..

Hi Alex121,

Do you know if CIC Mississauga received the receipt of RPRF to clear your payment? In our case that was the reason of the delay of our passport, I think is good idea to call them and ask if they received the receipt to clear the payment, after 40 days a I decided to call and ask about that payment I found out that they didn't received the receipt even when I send it the same day I paid for evrything...just to let you know sometimes you can't trust anything regarding to this process....

I dont know I left the money order with my lawyer she said she sent to missisaiga but I always call in at western union and they says it hasnt been chequed yet and if I call where am I suppose to call thanks any info would help

Hello everyone
I have an update my lawyer just messaged me and she forworded what the vo in guatemala sent her and and this is what is says

Dear applicant:
Your file has been placed in a queue awaiting assessment by an Immigration Officer. We do not require any additional information from you at this time. We will contact you soon to let you know what the next stage of processing will be.

Ok I have no idea what this means and as well has anyone gotten a smiliar response greatly appreciate it, any thoughts

Hi,

Call Mississauga Call Centre telephone number: 1-888-242‑2100 and talk to a CIC Agent ask if they received the RPRF receipt if not ask why....It would be good idea if you call so you can find out if the RPRF in fact is already paid...

Hoping this means a decision will be made soon gosh I want my family in Canada this summer trying not to get to excited it seems Guatemala holds the passports for a while.... but maybe we can be the exception to the rule, praying hard for it!

Wow! Good Luck. We are just waiting for our passport to be returned to us so maybe this office is realizing that they need to improve their service.
