Thanks, I hope so too!

Regarding your concerns, I have sent six case-specific enquiries to London and this has been my outcome:

Correction to my address (they had it wrong) sent on 2 April - reply on 3 April
Question regarding medical furtherance deadline sent on 3 April - no reply
Question regarding medical furtherance deadline (different question) sent on 29 June - no reply
Quebec Selection Certificate sent on 21 July - no reply
Update to my address sent on 25 September - reply on 5 October
Question checking on progress of medical stuff sent on 30 October - reply on 1 November

So I'm at 50% success rate of even getting a response out of them! And the timing of the three responses has varied 1-10 days.
thanks! so I should still have hope to hear from them.... fingers crossed! it would be good to know that my application is there and being looked at, quite a few people after me have been approved already, or at least in process, but nothing for me... wait wait wait...
Tomorrow hopefully! (being telling myself that for the last few weeks...).

Hold on in there Sweden! Your probably in process, but you said that you had travelled around a lot too right? That'll make the processing that bit longer. Wouldn't trust ECAS too much, ours still says 'in proces'... Really hope you get it soon!

Hey guys,

Does anybody know of good cheap airlines that fly from LGW to either Calgary or Toronto, sometime at the beginning of December. I need to get a connecting flight so destination really is not that important. I know airtransat are pretty good but pretty sure I saw a cheap airline that flew to Toronto daily.

canadianaffairs.ca

I used them many times for roundtrip LGW/Calgary or LGW/YVR many times for the £300 ballpark. They use airtransat and ThomasCook as far as I know

Thanks,

Yeah Canadian affair only uses Airtransat now. Trouble with Airtransat, they jack their prices sky high in December. Thomas cook ended their partnership with Canadian affair. There is 1 company that fly daily to Toronto for about £200 but I can't find them anywhere lol.

If you're looking for flights on Canadian Affair, before you book go onto Google or whatever search engine you use and search for promo codes..sometimes you can find a discount code to get 10% off the price.

Yeah I got the promo code but must be used by November 4th. That is their latest offer. If you want it, it is Explore Canada. Funny thing is it is cheaper to book a return flight in May then it is for just a 1 way ticket lol. I think it worked out about £7 cheaper buying 2 flights lol.

Yeah actually it may have been. No wonder I could not find it tonight, I know the flights to Toronto were dirt cheap lol. Thanks :D

The lack of flights going to Canada out of LGW is terrible. I guess it is Airtransat or pay mega bucks and fly using AirCanada and fly from Heathrow.

Flying to Canada "off-season" (outside of May to October) can be really expensive. Another option could be to fly to a US city near the border, for example Buffalo if you were on your way to Toronto, flights could be a whole lot cheaper because taxes are so much left. I flew from Buffalo back home to Ireland 2 years ago and it was pretty much half the cost of a flight from Toronto.

Yeah your right out of season is terribly expensive. Only problem is they tend to have so many peak seasons, any time during the school holidays in summer, spring break, Easter and the 2 half terms, 1 in October and 1 in February. Trying to fly for a reasonable price is hard work. If you look at Airtransat, their flights are not too bad up until Dec 8th then after that they become outrageous and pretty much double. Flying out of LHR is not great because any foul weather totally destroys LHR. I remember 2 years ago they shut Heathrow for 2 or 3 days and everybody was redirected through LGW. LGW is about 2 miles from me also so is very practical.

I was having one of those days, I just can't wait to be out of limbo and really start living as a Canadian

Ps. There is a Nandos (Brits should know it :) ) in Richmond hill ON and apparently they have mushy peas! For anyone who misses them

And I was just saying the other day how much I miss greggs and would love one of their Halloween cakes and a steak bake! It's so funny the things we miss!!
Nandos is also my favorite too. I even inquire their franchise opportunity however I am not quite qualified. Maybe you could have a try and I will definitely be a regular. :p
