Despite our couple of emails / CSEs to LVO we have not received any reply regarding second re-med of my wife (she had her first re-med on May 28, 2015). However, we have received GCMS notes last week, according to them my wife’s medical has expired and VO has asked CHC – New Delhi this May to send us re-medical request. Although my wife had her re-med on May 28, 2015 but LVO has never received those results. The VO has noted again for re-med in the end of September.

Now the problem is our local Panel Physician says that they forwarded the results on June 02, 2015, LVO is not responding but in the mean time we have booked appointment for re-med on Nov 02 and have also asked NDVO if they received the results and forwarded to LVO. On the positive side we have cleared eligibility and criminality, but not sure of security as it says updated. Does this means security is also cleared? Will they do the DM, once they receive the re-med results?

We recently got some bad news from CIC, turns out we've applied under the wrong category (though we were advised to do so by not only self-proclaimed "experienced" immigration persons but also the CIC help line... multiple times!). Long story short, they've given us 30 days to send in more "proof" that we are in fact in a committed relationship. Not sure what else they want us to send, as there is already proof of relationship dating back 5 years.
Would anyone know a good immigration lawyer in Ontario, Canada that could help us out? I can see this turning into quite a mess, and I would rather have someone who knows how to deal with these situations to help me out.

Thanks for any information.

so sorry to hear that.. that's really frustrating and disheartening :( getting a lawyer is a good idea. this site is run by a Canadian law firm that deals with immigration, and they have an office in Toronto. click on the 'Canada Visa.com' in the top left corner of the page to be directed to their main website. best of luck!

General update: Entered Canada under Duel-Intent on Oct 3rd, got sent to the secondary questioning room (?) at the border, no real hassle but had to show all the documents etc. Today marks 11 months since our application was filed in Mississauga, and 40 days since we went into process. Medical expires on the 6th of November. Not sure if I should send a second CSE since they didn't reply to the first one I sent about my medical. Also, should I order GMSC notes? I have no idea really how far through the process we are, so to hear something would be nice, but I don't wish to order notes if it slows the process down. I don't know how anyone who has been waiting in Canada longer than me hasn't gone insane! So done with the waiting :p

Ordering notes will not slow down your application as it goes to a different department (in Ottawa I believe). Ordering notes can be beneficial. taffy7, a member of this forum ordered notes and it was through the notes that she noticed that LVO had requested docs but she never received the request. Same thing happened to me - there was a note saying they could not link my medical results, so I sent a CSE with my medical info sheet copy and within a week of sending that ECAS showed meds received.

I have been in process for 49 days, so similar time to you. In the past 3 weeks I have sent 2 emails/CSE to LVO in response to being asked for a list of countries visited since my medical. My med expired on August 30th 2015 so they are trying to see if they can be extended. I will send another email/CSE this week and I will do so every week until they answer me.

It has been 402 days since my application arrived in Mississauga. I went insane around the 300 day mark.

Another update for the sheet. I checked my ECAS this morning and a new line has been added in after my DM "we sent you a letter on the 23 October". Hopefully its my COPR. *Most nervous/anxious time* :-\

Awesome, in that case I'll order some notes soon then! I noticed we are on a similar schedule, despite you having applied before me. I guess I'll wait until a week or so after my medical has expired, and then send a CSE if I haven't heard anything then. I'm glad to know its not just me thats going mental though, I just can't wait to have it done and work so that I can be busy again!

How do you request notes and how often would you request them?

Hi all,

I got a request for fingerprints/RCMP background check today. Applied outland but am in Canada with my husband, going to get the fingerprints done right away today.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this request and what the approx timeline was after submitting them?

We sent the application May 25th, was received Mississauga May 27th, Sponsor Approval July 31st, then "In Process" at the London office on ecas from August 6th.
Then today (Oct 26th) I have this email request for fingerprints.

They haven't requested anything else from me, but I sent medical, police certificate and copies of every page of both mine and my husbands passports with the application in the first instance and I think those are the only other things they commonly request otherwise.

The letter says "in order to finalise your application" and also requests I submit the prints within 30 days. Well I am doing it immediately as am 37 weeks preggers and baby could arrive imminently!

Any info relating to the above much appreciated.
Thanks! :)
Lucy

DMinty click here. There are instructions on the forum somewhere and a youtube video but it is pretty straight forward. The first page (where it asks for the department to submit your request to) is for the sponsor's information, and the page after that is for the applicant's information. Note that if the applicant is in Canada then you can order your notes under the privacy act. This is free to do, however ordering under the access to information act costs $5. They both yield the same data but the access to information act is for when the applicant is not in Canada.

Also worth remembering the applicant must complete a consent form, the form is IMM 5744e.

thank you Andrew-Brit, helpful as ever ;D - I don't see that paying $5 is too much of an ordeal (£2.50 in UK) so may just do that to see where i'm at.

Hi Lucy, I did not have you on the spreadsheet (link is in my signature) but I just added you. Can you check the details and confirm we have everything? I looked at your posts to get your location. I am in Calgary so hello neighbour!

Something odd has started happening at LVO recently. Since about May 2015 onwards they have been putting applications in process as soon as they receive them. It is a bit early to tell if they are actually in process but getting document requests is a good sign. Another user (mrsb2014) who applied in 2015 has also had the fingerprint/RCMP request so keep an eye out on their progress.
