Nothing new here for 4 weeks now, not since we got asked for a Vic Roads Check and sent declaration back stating my bf has no License. We're into our 5th month of waiting now :| since we are both on working holiday visas in Aus, we need to leave in 6 weeks and don't know where we are going to go yet lol, holding out hope that at least PR will come so we can go to Canada and the bf won't have to sit around too long not working. Sending good vibes for everyone else too!

hey guys,

i'm just completing the statutory declaration part of the paper work and just keen to get an example of what others have had their parents/friends solemnly and sincerely declare.

So far I have:

1. Individual A & Individual B have geniunely and continually shared an exclusive and serious relationship since 2010 and are currently engaged to be married on July 4th, 2015.

I'm assuming you need more than just this, but I'm unsure!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light...

I received SA on July 18. The email said:

"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for PermanentResidence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing.

Should you need to submit additional information or make any further enquiries regarding the
Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s), you may contact the office indicated below
by e-mail, fax, or in writing as follows:

CPC Mississauga, Attention: FCPAPR
P.O. Box 6100, Station A
Mississauga, ON
L5A 4H4
E-mail: cpcm-fcpapr @ cic.gc.ca
Fax number: (905) 803-7392"

My fiance is a New Zealander, and so we are expecting his application to be sent to Sydney. However there is no mention of the Visa office in the email. It just says that it has been sent abroad.

His status online still says:

We received application for permanent residence on April 17, 2014.

We started processing application on July 18, 2014.

Medical results have been received.

Is this strange, that we haven't been informed of the Visa office? I just worry that the application is still sitting in Mississauga, despite the fact that the letter says it's been forwarded abroad. Shocked

Thanks!

Hi,
I just got SA today and my letter is the same. Are you living in Canada? I am and I put Sydney but I guess it's staying in Canada?
It's not saying Ottawa so is Mississauga a relief office?

Wow it's been a while since I checked in here!.. Sydney has slowed down?!!! Bummer, I guess the days of the 2-3 week approval from Sydney that were happening at the start of the year are over?.. Anyways, I landed the other day (finally) after getting my residency 6 months ago. Very simple process when flying in, and I've already crossed in and out of the USA since with no problems. It seems they know your status even without the PR card so no stress about that. Good luck everyone!

I've been doing some looking myself (though I haven't picked one yet) and these are the companies I found so far that do a "groupage" rate for sea freight, where you fill part of a container and they ship it once the container is full from other shipments going the same direction. The first one, Wridgways, was used by someone else on this forum and they didn't have any issues with it.

http://santafewridgways.com/
http://www.wwcf.com.au/
http://affordableshipping.com.au/
http://masfreight.com.au/

Most of those have quote estimators on the website. I am looking at bringing over around 8 cubic meters (we have some furniture we're taking) and are estimating it will be around $2300-$2500 AUD.

thanks will look into those links. I have a quote from http://www.sevenseasworldwide.com/ but that isn't group shipping. I didn't think it was too bad considering our things would arrive in less than 3 months. But then again I don't know what is good and what is bad as I only have one quote. They quoted me $1500 AUD for 10 boxes and $1800 for 15.

I did something different. I put my entire household on ebay in one lump post, got like $2,000 and then when I came here just bought two bags of luggage. I'd advocate something similar - especially if your partner is already in Canada and set up.

If we were just one person moving over then yes would have done the 2 bags and go. We are a family of 4 moving over together and not brining any furniture only things that are not replacable, pictures and keepsake things for the kids.

It's really awesome to see moving ideas (with links to moving services). It's actually quite helpful since my partner and I are trying to plan how we'll be moving; it's really quite hard trying to plan it all. We're trying to figure out if it's worth sending our stuff over via seafright or selling it and starting over.

My SA was just approved the other day and my partner's application is on its way to Sydney now so we still have some time to think about it but it's amazing how fast time flies by when you don't want it to. D:
