Hi,
Thanks again.

I do manage to locate a friend in Sydney who will be able to receive my report on my behalf.
Just wondering does QLD department send report within Aus. or only within QLD?
Any body know?

Thank you.
I'm fairly certain they would mail it Australia wide, people move states all the time so it would be pretty ridiculous for them not to. I'm not even sure that they don't post internationally, it just wasn't an option for me to have them send it back to me here in Canada as I had a deadline for CIC Syd to receive my certificates. Considering they are aware these traffic checks are immigration requirements I would hope that they would post overseas... but obviously nothing about QLDTrans makes sense or is upfront hahaha.

Well, you are true about QLDTrans that nothing makes sense. Friend called (it took ages to get someone answered), asking about oversea postage if available. They say you need someone to pick it up at the counter, which means they do not provide oversea mailing. Anyway, friend gave up, and gave me her address instead. (though we are not sure if they send it Australia wide) . I will give it a try anyway. (finger crossed)
If they do not post anywhere besides QLD, there will be a reason for me to raise up in front of Visa Office then.

Thank you for your kindness on this.
It's been very helpful.
Wish you all the best in Canada.

Friend's address is probably the best way, thank goodness for friends eh? Hoping it all goes well for you and before long you and your family are together here in Canada. Good luck!

Just gonna jump in here. I'm Victorian (thank god) but live in QLD when I'm not in BC but I keep my VIC license. When thinking about how stupid Queensland transport are, all you have to do is think of this: They still had laminated license cards up until a couple of years ago... Basically around 20 years behind Victoria and NSW as far as services go. The Vic driving history for my application took about 2 seconds to fill in and 1 day to arrive in the mail. Just stick with it and everything will be fine!

And super congrats! I remember having that precious brown envelope on my lap. I just sat there smiling at it for a good 10 minutes before I had the courage to open it.
Wait, so they send the CoPR by snail mail not email?

they do - it's an actual document (2 copies) and the first one has your photo attached , while the second is your copy - both will likely be signed at the border/office.

we got PPR on may 9 (10th in Syd), and the mail was stamped 14th, so 13th here. Arrived 22rd so almost a week via airmail.

Omg I'm getting nervous about the initial process of spousal sponsorship. I remember the days where it was 30 days and I've been checking every week now and it's gone from 40 days to 44 to 47... Does anyone know if processing times in Sydney have changed? I know a lot of you guys have been lucky to get them with 3-4 mth time frame in total..

just from reading, it sounds like the time gaps are in Ontario - the Sydney VO is quite 'on the ball' it seems.

This is correct. You need both copies to land, either at an office or at the border. They ask you some questions, you sign both copies, they take the one with your photo (for processing the PR Card I'd assume?) and then they staple the other copy to your passport. It's very important that you keep that COPR if you plan on getting citizenship eventually, so once a PR card is received a lot of people remove it from their passports and put it somewhere for safe keeping.

And Yokies, it would seem the longest waits on either side of the process are on Canada's part, the SA and PR card arrival timelines have jumped where as there hasn't really been any increase since Torvic, Thestylemaster and I got ours to when Netkid did a few months later so I hope that eases your worries some!

I've just done some quick calculations. At the rate that cic Mississauga are processing the sponosrship applications I have calculated that it could be about 100 days until they get to even looking at my application?
Is it normal that it takes so long for them to reach AOR. I'm asking all people who have already had sponsorship approved. How long did it usually take between the day you know it arrived and receiving AOR?

Goo afternoon guys and girls! Firstly I'd like to apologize for barraging everyone with all the questions I have.( safe to say I wish I got myself a representative at this stage) I'm having some difficulty understanding the additional dependants part of the application. In the form it states that if you do not provide information you will not be able to sponsor members of your family in future. Before I had sent the application away I had asked all of my family if they had any intentions of moving to canada to which they all stated no. So I went ahead and just entered myself and spouse. Though I do have members of immediate family. Mother, stepmother, father, stepfather, three brothers and a sister. The way I interpreted the instructions (which at the time I thought were quite clear) I didn't see the need to put anyone on app as again there is no intention of any other of my family to move to canada! Have I been correct in filling it out as I have? I still have time to send the correct one as the application hasn't been processed yet and I'm sure they will understand.
Now on to issue two. My younger sister is currently in the United States and has obtained a whp visa for canada and she will be going to travel, work and in between live with my common-law partner. Again my younger sister has zero desire to be a permanent resident in canada, and to be honest is unsure whether or not at the moment if she will even follow through with her canadian plans to activate her visa.

I am in the process of gathering further documents such as Facebook logs, phone message history etc and also providing more info to cic as we want to put our best feet forward. I'm going to be stating in an updated letter to cic of why it all came to be myself and partner want to live in canada. As earlier we had just sent in the black and white proof i.e co-signed rent, bills, relationship development. After finding this absolute godsend of a thread and all you wonderful people. I've come to the realisation that more info can definitely be provided!
In a letter that addresses these issues I will be stating that's sister will be(potentially) spending some time in canada with my partner) which obviously I see zero reason to hide, however, going back to the additional dependants info and me only putting myself and partner on, have I misinterpreted the section and instructions? Or in writing about my sister staying with my partner am I doing the right thing in detailing our relationship and myself and partners families getting to know one another even more and I filled out the additional dependants form correctly?
