CONGRATS LYN...I got my passport back today with my Visa in it, Generic Document IMM 5292 and instructions on how to land... :D :D :D :D :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P My signature looked terrible when I signed for it...I couldnt stop shaking :P :P :P :P :P

Fantastic! Laughing cos my signature was the same. Celebration time!

I tried to make an appointment to "land" inside Canada, but basically they told me to forget it - I don't think the lady at CIC was very clued up on procedures, so she told me to drive to the american border. Yuk, really, I was thinking of something a bit more exciting!

Where are you landing?

Just trying to decide now..... hunting around for somewhere fun to spend a couple of days....

I think we are going to Lewiston Bridge, statistically it has less traffic than Both the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls and Peace Bridge in Buffalo

Nice! I think I might just go and get it over with tomorrow..... doing the border turnaround seems like the easiest option after all. Will let you know how I get on.... if I make it back from the dark side :P

Congratulations to you both lynw and britincanada, I can totally read your excitment on your post :D ... good luck when landing, enjoy!!

Oh Wow!!! CONGRATULATIONS britincanada and lynw! That is SO exciting!!!! So jealous! But so happy for you guys. Must feel amazing. :D

Congrats lynw and Britncanada :P :P :P :)

I am planning on landing next week as well. Please let us know about your experiences when you land. Any advice or ideas would be great!

Too bad they didn't return cards or photos.

Detroit sent back all of our photos, cards, letters, airplane tickets, receipts, etc. I was amazed by all they sent back. I just wanted the cards, but it was fun to look back through all the photos I had labeled for the application.

Keep letting us know how everything goes for both of you!

Thank you thank you! btw Sydney sent back our photos, which were the only items that looked as though they might be originals (they weren't). Everything else was scanned and printed.

well its about freaking time.
i finally got a letter from the embassy today.
advising that they got my docs on the 10 august.
Well i have yet to see the letter as my dad collected it and opened it but refuses to read the rest of the letter.
so i am mad cause i am freaking out at work.
but at least i heard something finally. 2 months into the process.

Congrats Ceegee..

The only original document we sent was My Husbands Notice of Assessment for 2009, we didn't want to wait for the option c printout and had already included and option C Printout for 2006, 2007, 2009..Hoped we would have got the original assessment back! All cards were photocopied and photos duplicated with photolab.ca 19 cents a photo..so not really bothered about them..

This made me laugh..I checked the mail this morning and my Husband got a letter from CPC-M to confirm they received our payment of $490 for RPRF and that London has been notified that the fees have been paid in order to issue my visa...LOL..The date on my Visa says issued 26th August 2010...The date on the letter is 20th September 2010...

Landed today! Exhausted, happy it's over, welcome to Canada me? LOL

When you get your passport back from CIC there is a nice shiny sticker in it. At the border they then scribble over the sticker in pen, and staple a tatty thermal copy paper into your passport. Such an anticlimax!
