I believe the time frame of 15 to 16 month is for the worst case scenario. There have been folks on this forum whom obtained ppr in less than 1 year. it can happen for you too. Don't lose hope ok

Totally agree. When I started following the forum in the mid-to-late summer, I was so excited by the timelines I was seeing. 90% of the people are in the 7-10 month time frame.

CIC did an update for application profile/statues and that is why the wording has changed for EVERYONE. There should be differences between profiles. Not all wording should be the same. Depends where you are in the process I suppose. I feel like they have elaborated a bit more. I think it's better don't you?

I agree with you ...CIC is working day after day ..but the way guys are blaming them is alarming..

Some people don't even tell us when they received message from AVO here,rather they hide it,

Me never Get ppr,I'm also worried could it be that they didn't go with enough evidence since they didn't announced it to get help ,but all I pray is that every one that goes to interview will hear from AVO this month and get ppr,


I'm still saying this until some one will hear,problem share is problem solve..
Some one said AVO is holding his original after interview, I guess they checking things out for your good,
But I'm begging every one here stop hiding what's going on your profile it does you no good...

If you got a message for additional documents ,say it here ,people will tell you all you will send to them,but if you think you can do it alone ,it might not be enough ,

Once you give AVO enough evidence and your relationship is simple and good ,you are getting ppr straight,
I will say the only reason I got interview is because I submit almost empty application, no ID from me,not Even a school certificate, not even enough photos, not even an evidence of communication, but when I was call to interview I go with all this to convinced them.
All us will get ppr and pick up mail from now to April as CIC have vow to make up the timeline,
So keep your head strong and never give up

@Timossky99, thanks for your comment and I really agree with you. What I see in this forum is that some people only read their friend post and ignore others and this forum is not meant that way. I think we need to share problems and read everyone's comment especially when it is an urgent matter cos that could also happens to us too.

As waiting time ranges from some months to a few years, I was thinking of filing for a TRV for my wife and kid. Who in the house have successfully application for a visiting visa for their spouse? I have two questions about the documentation for the visitor's visa;

1. How do I word the invitation letter?

2. What documents do I show for purpose of travel as I can't book flight till approved, I can't book hotel since they will stay with me and they are nit coming for any medical appointment. (These are the 3 type of evidence listed in the site under the propose of travel section)

Any idea good people?

I see you applied a year before me and just got ppr February. How did you survive that long? I would literally die if I have to wait that long. I wouldn't mind moving back to Nigeria until they get approved, seriously.

I applied in November 2015 my file was transferred to Avo in Feb 2016. Medicals was done upfront but never showed on Ecas as received. On my 8th month as most of us expect to hear from Avo, I never received any email from Avo. Honestly I had sleepless nights because all those I applied before had received PPR etc.
On the 9th month, I went to the post office to check just incase there's a mail in my box. Suprisenly AVO had sent me a letter instead of an email asking for sponsors Full rent agreement, tax assessment and current employment. I know your question will be ah, didn't you provide your email address? Yes I did.

I live in Ghana. And a letter traveling from Avo to my end, can't take more than a day. But here is the case a letter from Avo to me took a month. The envelope that contained the letter was dated on the 8th month but the date in the letter asking for additional documents from sponsor was dated on the 7th month.

So my question is how can you date a letter 7th month and post on the 8th month? And give me 30 days to provide all those documents whiles you Avo had already consumed all the 30days yourself.

I had to draw their attention on their mistake and instructed that further correspondences should be by email and not mail. Fortunately they adhered to my instruction and emailed me those same requested documents on the 10month as if nothing had happened and it was their first time of corresponding with me. All documents were submitted with the 10th month.

On the 12 th Month which was Nov.2016, Avo came again saying I should proof genuiness of my marriage I quickly fell on Mandie for advice. She knowing better, she adviced I submit everything I have to proof genuiness of my marriage. Of course she wasn't there during the genesis of my marriage.And she knew perfectly well that every case is different. What might work for A will not work for B so the ball was in my court to PROOF to Avo. Glory to God was able to gather certain docs and submitted.

Finally 1 Feb 2017 Avo gave me 15days to redo medicals, police cert, fill schedule A, PR fees, passport etc.

That's my story.

One goes to Avo for interview, 3 days time they get PPR and medicals showing on Ecas so they start applauding
Avo and expect everyone to join in. Has any one followed or read one of our member Samola' story? Just at the verge of PPR he was refused the most annoying part of his story is Avo made him do remedicals for himself and his kids not kid ooooo kids plural. Imagine the cost involved in those medicals just for Avo to refuse him!!!!! It's worth applauding isn't it? There are countless number of people following this forum secretly because of how unfair Avo has been to them. Do you think such a person will have confidence enough to advice someone on this forum?

That explains a lot. Everytime I look at your timeline, I'm like damn this is just ridiculous.Quick question, when you say 8th month are you counting from when Mississauga received your application or when AVO received it?

I agree with you. Everyone has different experiences. There is no doubt that AVO has been good to people, helping those get PPR quickly so some can hurry to see their sick spouses, and then they have been not so good to people, like in the case of Samola. And it's true though, we will never know each other's full stories. And that's ok. There is no policy we sign to spill all of our situations to every last detail on this forum. We all just have to believe in each other and being good and kind to each other, help each other along the way the best we can. We also need to advocate for ourselves and not 100% rely on the information we receive here because at the end of the day we are not immigration specialists. There is no doubt that AVO and visa offices all over the world need to improve their systems. Let us hold them accountable and inform ourselves and take responsibility for informing ourselves with the right sources. For people to complain that others on here have not helped you enough is not a fair statement. We're all just trying to make it through this crazy journey. Stay hopeful. Stay sane. Stay supportive.
