Hi everyone! After 14 months of waiting. Finally, my son has arrived in Canada! To God be the glory!

We submitted the application November 2017.
Medical request January 26, 2018
Medical submitted February 7, 2018
After Medical Passed February 10, 2018 UP TO January 6, 2019 NO NEWS......
Suddenly, January 7, 2019 they requested for schedule A. January 20, 2019 MANILA VISA OFFICE CALLED US. They were asking if it is possible for us to send the passport of our son to MVO within 5 days. And would it be possible for my son to arrive in Canada on or before February 7, 2019. And of course we said yes! Sent the passport at MVO January 21, 2019, received the passport back January 22, 2019. He arrived in Canada February 2, 2019. It was a very long journey. But it’s worth the wait. To those who are still waiting for their approval, I know the feeling.... Sometimes it is really hard to be patient especially if you are waiting for your loved ones.... Just keep the faith and keep praying! Thank you all! God bless everyone!

Hi guys,

I sent the application forms on Dec 7th and returned application on Feb 1t2th saying that "non accompanying parent /guardian form not completed in its entirety" and "supporting documents not provided". Can someone please let me know who needs to fill the form non accompanying parent/guardian for minors immigrating to Canada ? myself or my wife ? My wife is at home country with my child and i believe she cannot be co signer as well even she has PR. Please help me to understand.

Thanks,

Why can't she be co-signer?

in form IMM1344 at section SPONSER ELIGIBILITY ASSESSMENT there is question 4 called " Do you reside in Canada and in no other country ?"
if we select here No then not eligible ot sponsor.
That's for sponsorship and as long as one parent is in Canada child can be sponsored. This has nothing to do with co-signer.

Let's looks at this differently. One parent is trying to move a child from one country to Canada and IRCC would want to confirm that other parent is OK with it. How can IRCC confirm ? By checking signature of other parent as co-signer or in non-accompanying parent form.

That means i really dont have to fill the non accompanying parent form. is it correct ?
