Thread for 2017 - Dependent Child sponsorship Applications

I received letter from CIC that my file has been forwarded to London Office. I am curious - why the file has been forwarded to London office - when the applicant is in Canada ( i thought outland applicant and from specific countries file are forwarded to London). And what London office will do after sponsor approval and medical exam pass. Will they take their own time to process. I was hoping to get PPR in next month or so.

Any advise/thoughts will be highly appreciated.

From what I understand, the different offices share the workload of incoming applications. There is nothing to worry about

Dont Worry.
It may NOT be what you are thinking. There's a London in Canada too. ... They have an IRCC office there. You can PM me if you have some specifics. I can, more than happy, answer them.

Glad to see this thread. I recently applied for the sponsorship of my daughter and the timeline is:-

Application package sent to CPC Mississauga - 1st May 2018
Application package received at CPC Mississauga - 2nd May 2018

I have included my email in the application. Does the AOR come in email or via traditional mail.

And yes, if you have put your email in the application form, the AOR comes in email. You can check the "Check Application Processing times" in the IRCC website to know by when can you expect the AOR.

We did a soft landing when I was 7 maths pregnant..the immigration officer said I need not declare pregnancy and that only after child is born I need to contact ircc for further procedure ..my husband and me haveoharbour pr cards....and my new born is born out of Canada. .can som1 plz guide as to what is the further process will the child get automatically added or does my husband need to sponsor him.. .currently we are all not in Canada ...

Hi Nayena,
It all depends on where your child was born. If child was born in Canada. Child can/may be a citizen.
If Child was born outside Canada, then you or your husband or both of you can sponsor the child.

Hello Nayena,

I have been through a similar situation. One of the parents will have to travel to Canada and apply for a family class visa (dependent child). You cannot do it while you are outside Canada unless you are a citizen. You could also try for a TRV (visit visa) first for your daughter. Make sure that you explain very clearly the circumstances around the application. Unfortunately, TRVs are frequently rejected and you have to be lucky to be granted one. If you have a TRV, you can all travel together and apply for the sponsorship after you are in Canada.

In my case, the first TRV application was refused and I had to travel alone and apply for my daughters PR. It is not a great situation. I have applied for another TRV again with more documentation and explanations but I dont know if it will be granted. If you decide on one of the course of actions and have more questions, post it here and you will get help. All the best!

1. We received your application for permanent residence on August 15, 2017.
2. We started processing your application on May 8, 2018.
3. Medical results have been received. (MEDICAL was one on 26th April 2018)

That is a pretty long wait between receiving and processing the application. Were there any additional documents\information requested? And how long did it take for the sponsorship approval.

Yes it was long wait and even after contacting CIC, they always asked me to wait for 10 months.
There was updated photo request. I got approval after Medical Test was passed. so you can say in end of April 2018. The application had no other issue and they never requested any additional document for 7 months.

I think this is normal processing time

That isnt great but all is well that ends well. Congrats on the approval. Looks like I am in for a long wait.

Hang in there. It clearly states that the BG check is in process. This may take time, depending upon your travel history and other factors. But you are almost there. A little bit more patience is what is required. All the best.

haha I need to practice patience. I just wish I knew how much longer so that I can stop checking my email/CIC account/mailbox like a madman.

For that madness, there's a solution which you have to do twice a day. Check your email/CIC in the morning and before going to bed.
