I am an applicant from Pakistan. I have also received 6-12 months wait letter in April 2012 and as per the online status my processing start date is 20th March 2012.

My friend who's processing start date is 22th March 2012 have already received an update document request letter on 2nd Nov through a regular Pakistan postal service.

I have an instance where a document was sent to me through a regular Pakistan postal service by University from UK got lost.

My concern is if this happens with this letter which i am expecting from LVO losts in the mail their is no way to find out if any letter was sent by LVO or if it has been lost because they do not inform us through email at the time of sending such letters.

What to do in this situation because you can't write to LVO before 12 months..........any one please advice

You can write after 6 months and there is no problem
Minimum you can get feedback if any thing sent to you
Otherwise you can request for CAIPS

Dear Gogy,

if they have send you letter recently to update documents OR MR then if you send them a CSI(email inquiry) then they will inform you that they have send you a letter for update or MR (this letter is not a wait letter) but if they send you a copy/paste reply, for example, "you application is waiting to be reviewed/ we will reply in 28 days...and so on........"then IT MEANS THEY DID NOT SEND YOU ANY UPDATE DOCS/ MR YET, hope it helps.

Thanks

It is an frustrating situation when you don't know if they have sent you any letter and if they have then you have to only rely on the post office. Any way i wait for few days and then may be I should email to LVO to inquire. I wish they could send all corsponding by courier.

Thanks again,
Rgrads

I was in a similar situation as yours. I was expecting they would send me the letter during Eid holiday in Saudi Arabia. I sent them CSI and they replied within hours that they had dispatched the letter on Oct 10. I specifically asked them whether they sent me MR or not and they said they sent an update request. I strongly suggest that you dont delay and send them CSI now. This has no bearing on your case , but if you know when they sent u the letter you can start preparing for the docs, specially police certificates.

Yes, Client ID in CAIPS is the same thing as UCI. It's an 8-digit number starting with 6 and each family member has a different number. You can try logging in to your status check on CIC website instead of your application number and you'll see you can still log in. And it also mentions UCI/Client ID in the options. I have written Client ID in my updated forms instead of UCI and I am very confident about this.

Dear Gogy,

I'm sure that you'd submitted your full supporting documents either in September 2010 or after. If this is the case then you don't need to worry about it as currently LVO are working on applicants whose documents submitted in June, July, and August 2010.

Priorities are not set on 6-12 months wait letter. Hope this will let you calm down ;)
