when your E-cas changes from received to in process , do you receive an email ?
i dont think you receive any email if anything happens on Ecas right ?

I submitted it online mainly because it was faster then post, although now it looks like the difference between online/post is not that big anymore. Anyway my employer also handled another closed WP application (based on pending LMIA application) which is still pending. I didn't want to risk to not get the LMIA in time, so I continued with the BOWP (although the lawyer said it was unlikely it would be approved). So I was kind of betting on both.
What I liked on the online application is that you can follow the status. Like some times there were update mails for it, which gives you the idea it is still in progress.

hi fonteynb, when you submitted your bowp application did you attached a written explanation that you do not have any 2nd AOR nor you recieved one? if you did not, did they request one after your submission?

TIA

Hi, at the time of applying for the BOWP I didn't even have my automatic AOR. So yes, I included a written explanation that I didn't receive the AOR yet but that I was expecting it any moment. And I also indicated I had to submit at that time according to the regulation that you have to apply before the current WP expires. In my case my WP was valid until Apr 13 so I submitted on Apr 12.
There is a thread about BOWP application without AOR on the CEC forum and I followed some info from there.

Hi,

Does anyone think that I should be worried about my timeline?

AOR received on June 11th
Review of medical results: Passed - June 26th
Additional docs requested and submitted - June 29th
ECAS shows three lines with the last line saying medical result received.

However, my BG check status in MyCIC still says "Not Started". It seems to be an awfully long wait since it has been almost 1 month since I passed medical. I see most people have their BG status changed to "In process" the same day or a few days after they passed the medical exam.

Any information is much appreciated!!

I don't think the VO are consistent in updating these MYCIC status, I don't think it matter what it says in BG check in MY CIC.
Application seems to move only when ECAS status changes to in progress !

So don't worry you are fine!

Thank you very much Popey778 and KingOfGoodTimes ;D

today is 3 months since application/AOR date and 7 weeks since my last update (bg check went in process) - Ecas remains unchanged (app received)

Think we will be waiting a while longer yet.

This thread is for applicants with AORs in April (only).
Sorry we can't help, I'd suggest you post your message in a thread dedicated to your month of AOR ;)
Good luck !
