Has anyone who has applied for a BOWP with their first AOR received their new WP's?

Hi michtr,
My buddy is about to apply (today) as CIC put him in a category then cancelled his app after he applied in April, they cancelled it last week. No reason either.

Hey guys, i got my passport delivered back today. They stamped a immigrant visa valid for an year and a letter confirming confirmation of residency...

Congrats Gary. I am really happy to see this with an inland applicant.

I applied on April 12th for the BOWP. At that time I didn't even receive the first AOR (App subm Apr 4 and the AOR came on Apr 20). I had to do because my WP was expiring on April 13.
Up to now I didn't hear anything back, but I'm rather nervous for it, since the specs are changed and the processing time is continuously increasing. I already expected feedback on this some time ago, but now the processing time is at 96 days for online and 108 days for paper applications. I submitted the online application.
2 weeks ago I received the update mails for the BOWP application, but nothing changed (the same for the WP for my wife and the visitor records of my kids).

pleeeease anyone knows if theres a difference between Criminal Records Check and RCMP check ?
i did the Criminal Records Check from Ottawa police station and they had my finger prints ....
thank you guys :)

Hi I applied on the 13th for BOWP online too and no news since then, got an update email about 2 weeks ago as well. Let me know if you have news we have a very similar timeline. Thanks.

Indeed looks like a very similar timeline.
Did you apply as single applicant or with dependents?
I have an application for me, my wife and 2 kids.
I suppose this will take longer than a single application.

Congratulations!!
Should you apply for your PR Card now?

why the visa is valid for a year though?

hey AAlhadka,

The visa is only valid for 1 year and it says i have to come to Canada within the same time and there would be no exception to it. Since, i am already in Canada i will just do the landing procedure at the Buffalo airport.

Im a single applicant, but I lived in 3 different countries, so I guess it will take longer for me as well.

I guess my case will be even more complicated, I have two dependants and have lived in three different countries.......

Well, than I'm still beating you, 3 dependants and 3 countries.
And to make matters even more complicated, I had a divorce before and my kids from my first marriage are living with me in Canada with their mothers approval.
:-X
