hi fonteynb

may i ask how did you apply for BOWP w/o the 2nd AOR? like what steps or where did you get the procedure to apply? I will do the same thing as soon as possible coz my WP expires on October.

TIA

I even applied before getting the first AOR since my WP was expiring on Apr 13.
There are a couple of threads on the Canadian Experience forum that explain how to fill in the BOWP application and how to handle without getting AOR.

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/got-my-bowp-approved-without-submitting-aor-t153061.0.html

Basically I first followed the wizard on CIC and select temporary option. Than you get to the work permit part, where you can do the online application, which I did.

The threads helped me to fill in the application forms, since the same forms are used for closed/open work permits.

Now I'm waiting to see if it will be approved. Based on the current timelines I think it should be processed somewhere next week. Yesterday I got updates for it, but nothing visible, so I guess I'm getting closer to the processing.
I'm rather nervous for it, since the rules were changed and it is no longer sure it will be approved with the first AOR. So I can only hope and also hope the PR might be getting there as well.

Hi guys, so a quick update from my status,
I got a screen shot from MyCIC from my solicitor, my status on the Background Check now reads In Progress, I have been told that CIC are now looking at my Police Certs and then my medicals and then a decision? So hopefully not long now!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Very similar timelines indeed!

silmaril, how did you apply for your BOWP? By paper or online? Your BOWP application was very quick compared to others...
Our permit application was sent pretty much at the same time and mine took a month longer than yours to be processed :-[

Anyway, just found that interesting...

Applicants from Toronto (if any here in this thread), where are you thinking of doing the flagpole once receiving the passport back? at Niagara Falls? ::)
Anxious for that moment ;D ;D

We applied for our BOWP online. We were pleasantly surprised to see it approved so quickly as well! My PGWP was expiring on April 17 and my BOWP was approved on April 16 (just in time!!!), maybe that was the reason they hurried up the process? When we applied, processing times were 36 days and moved up to 60+ days.. again, nobody can tell of CIC patterns

I'm hoping for CIC to process our files sooner because I have to travel outside of Canada in September for a couple of weeks and CIC sometimes takes 4 weeks to send the passport back after PPR.. so my timelines may be in a crunch here considering I have a little over two months left! Also, I only have two empty pages left in my passport (exhausted the rest with visas and stamps( and haven't applied for a Temporary Visa yet because I'm saving space for the PPR visa.. My country doesn't provide additional pages and I will have to apply for a new passport once all pages are exhausted. Ughhh, its quite frustrating at this point because I'm running out of time and paper on my passport! haha

Oh, so that's the difference then. I applied through paper ::)
My PGWP expired on March 3rd... so from March 3rd to May 19th I was under the stressful implied status. God knows how many times I would come home from work thinking that I would open the door and see the letter from CIC explaining the rejection of BOWP (cuz I never got the 2nd AOR), but thank God it was approved ;D ;D

Silmarilli, if all goes well, we might be looking into PPRs as soon as next week. In the end, it will all work out :P *fingers crossed* :D

I have a close work permit till Oct 2015, my employer wants to send me back India.
What will be my status, if I quit job and stay here ?
In that case can I apply BOWP ? But it violates minimum 4 months rule.
Anybody has similar situation ?

Guys, is anyone here also getting those "ghost" emails from CIC?
I just received one this morning...

I know that, just wanted to know if other people here are also receiving them, so it would mean that they are working on April batch.

I will post any updates as I receive them... ;)

I wish also to see "ghost" mails on my PR application.
This week I got an update email on my BOWP application, but nothing visible yet.

Looks like someone applied within Canada (hemanth1983) from the main "Express Entry applicants who received AOR connect here" thread got PPR and he applied on Apr01, AOR received on Apr08.
