Well I was also surprised.
Got my CSIS report recently, CSIS Security Screening started 28th April, finished 12th June, so 1.5 months in total.
I called IRCC immediately and explained the situation to an agent, she told me to scan CSIS response and forward it to Ottawa office.
I guess it also depends on the office which processes your application, I read a lot about how delays happen due to officers slow work..
I will probably ask my lawyer to follow up soon because I honestly don't know what else to do, we even tried TRV and it was rejected :( might even try again ufff

@legalfalcon thanks for your explanations.

I have a question for you - my Security Screening started April 28th 2017. I requested CSIS status by fax and got response my Security Screening was finished June 12th. However, my GCMS Notes doesn't show anything on this date. All the other checks were completed before Security.
Shall I contact CIC and explain the situation? Does it look like they lost CSIS response?
May I ask how long did CSIS take to get back to you? I have also inquired about the status of my security screening and was wondering if I have to wait the full eight weeks or do they usually get back to you sooner.

No intelligence agency relies solely on foreign agencies. However, they will request information from foreign agencies to corroborate the information they have, or gather more leads on the person who is under scrutiny. It is a complicated process which involves a lot of factors, and not a simple process of reading a document.
thank you. I mean if CSIS already contacted foreign agencies to complete their report/advice, IRCC will not contact the foreign agencies again while they review the CSIS report or am I wrong?

I ordered my CSIS April 18th, the report was issued June 21st and I got it by mail june 30th. Another sponsor ordered June 2nd, letter was issued June 30th and got it July 10th. So 90 days for me and 40 days for her altogether. It may come faster than 8 weeks but 8 weeks for sure. It seems CSIS is pretty organized.

You never know, if they need additional information. What CSIS does and how BGC are conducted is a closely guarded secret and not disclosed. All Information in this post is what is available after much digging and with my experiences from working for the governments in different countries.

@legalfalcon MY csis report states that advice has been sent to IRCC on 6th march 2017. Its been 4 .5 months now... I am getting scared that what sort of security results they had sent that IRCC taking so long? Should i contact IRCC by sending letter of CSIS or through Mp?

In some cases IRCC is painfully slow. You can definitely raise a CSE and ask for the status of your request. And you can also ask your MP to send a request with the CSIS report and ask.

I understand, however they still have to have better communication with applicants and at least give us approximate dates. Our lives are put on hold and we can't even plan anything because of this torturous process..
I just keep on praying PPR will come to all of us this summer!

Thanks for sharing some information!

@legalfalcon hi there,
do u know how long will it take for security and eligibilty to pass??um stuck at NA for more thana month now.thanks
Every application is processed differently. While many like to see trends and other applications filed in the same period, that is a good indicator, but varies widely. Instead you should see what stage of the application you are at. R10, Eligibility, Criminality and BGC. Order GCMS notes and keep a track. This is the best I can say. Any thing else on time is just a speculation.

I have a question, I was searching for some statistics from Ankara visa office and I came across this:
Request Number: A-2015-32611
Organization: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
Disposition: Disclosed in part \ Communication partielle
Year: 2016
Month: December
Number of Pages: 159
Request Summary: We wish to obtain the draft IRIMPs (or final if available at the time of processing) for 2016-2017 the following overseas missions : Abu Dhabi; Accra; Amman; Ankara; Bangkok; Beijing; Beirut; Bogota; Brussels, Bangalore
http://open.canada.ca/en/search/ati?keyword=immigration &page=42&wbdisable=true

I don't quite understand what IRIMP does, do you think this report might have some useful information? I can request it but there's no deadline to when I'll receive it from them.

Thank you!

IRIMP stands for International Region Integrated Management Plan

The older reports are available here.

http://www.cic.gc.ca/englisH/resources/audit/accra.asp - Ankara

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/audit/singapore.asp

Its internal audits. Not sure how you would use them, but if you would like, you can definitely order them.

Yes, I skimmed through Ankara's audit and seems like they didn't have problems with backlog back in 2011. I'm just trying to figure out what could be taking Ankara so long to complete my husband's security check when he doesn't have any red flags. I understand everything you explained and I've been patiently waiting but there has to be some explanation to it...which unfortunately they will never reveal to us.

Thank you

Unfortunately, the wait is a killer. All I suggest is that you don't lose hope, keep ordering timely GCMS, and follow up with IRCC by email and CSE.
