Hi all,

Super visa application date: June 24, 2025
Country: India
Biometrics: June 17, 1025
Medical passed: September 23, 2025

No update since. Submitted a webform yesterday requesting an update.

Is this the norm these days?

Thanks.
Same here, waiting since june 16.
All completed except background (normal application).

It was police record for my father-in-law. He is a retired police officer
What type of docs did you submit for the quick processing? I’m wondering because most applications of this nature are taking more than 6 months.

I’m on the same boat. Submitted for my father in law

Hi everyone,

Is there anyone who applied is June 2025 and still waiting to hear back? The webform I submitted on March 10th received a generic reply providing no meaningful update. Application Status Tracker show Biometrics, Medical Exam, and Eligibility as "Completed", and Background Verification as "In progress", which has been the case since Sep 22, 2025. My FIL worked for Military Engineering Services in India and my guess is that's the reason behind prolonged processing time; but I am just guessing.

We invited them for our son's first birthday in Sep 2025. Needless to say, we think they'll miss the second birthday too.

I am considering applying for a regular visitor visa. Is that an acceptable thing to do in IRCC's eyes? Anyone with experience succeeding in obtaining a visitor visa while waiting for a super visa?

Is there anything else we can do to request an actual update? The current processing time is 138 days as of May 13, 2026. We applied 323 days ago.

Any help or information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If he has a military background then he will have the same issue applying fro TRV as he undergoes the same background verification. You can contact an MP or an immigration lawyer about next steps. This is with the Indian government to provide the military background information.

Thank you for the info. Full disclosure, his role was civilian with zero involvement with the security apparatus or access to any sensitive information. But of course, verifying that would take time too. Hopefully the Indians can pick up some pace in this case then.

I will contact our MP and see if they are able to help.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the info. I am applying for a visitor visa today for my mother-in-law only since she has no military background. Hopefully, that'll be approved.

After receiving ADR for police records, how long did it take? Only asking because I've applied for my in laws Sep 2025 and medicals upfront done in Feb 2026, biometrics done. In tracker everything passed for mother in law, for father in law eligibility passed but Background check in progress. I'm currently expecting and due in July 2026, have submitted a letter from my doctor too. We've submitted ADR police records Dec 17 and they received it Dec 31. No updates since. What's else can I do? Thank you
Hi Kirandeep, An ADR request was received for my father-in-law, asking for his police service history, followed by PPRs for both my in-laws. We submitted the requested document and sent the passports to Delhi for stamping based on the PPRs, but the passports were returned, saying the applications are still in progress. The ADR was attached to the application on Sept 15, 2025. I followed up with IRCC through webforms, but no response till Feb 10, 2026 - they updated both applications to the final decision, and they approved my mother-in-law's application alone. We sent her passport to Delhi and received a stamped passport on March 13, 2026. My father-in-law's application has been in process since Feb 10, 2026. We sent webforms, asked the local MP to check on the application, but no use. The MP's office responded that the application is still in progress. I submitted a GCMS request today to check what is really going on
