Received BIL on October 21st. Biometrics Submitted on October 24th but they haven't been updated in the system till today. I think super visa processing right now is just painfully slow.
We are talking about a potential up to 5-7 year visit and many parents are not returning home after their visit has ended or if they no longer can secure supervisa insurance or pay for it so yes there is more scrutiny and longer processing times. I blame the previous government for increasing the visit length and not reinforcing that this is a visit and most will not have a pathway to PR and are expected to return home. If very lucky parents may eventually get PR but that could take 10+ years. Also parents on supervisas/families are placing additional strain on a healthcare system in crisis and not paying for care if they exceed 100k, haven’t maintained their supervisa insurance or overstay their visit or receive emergency care that is not covered because it is a preexisting condition. Most hospitals are running deficits so they can’t afford not to just absorb unpaid care or allow people to very slowly pay off debts over decades.
