study permit

Hello,
I am planning to start a one-year certificate program in January 2020 in BC and I will be done with my current certificate program by the end of December 2019 from Alberta.
Do I need to apply for a new study permit or just update my DLI in my current study permit?
If I need to update it when shall I do so, i.e. before or after I complete my current course?

If your permit exp date will remain valid long enough to complete both programs you dont need to do anything except update your dli on myCIC website, after you conplete thid program.

If it will expire then renew it 60 days or so before expiry using new LOA.
