Hello Everyone,

Two weeks ago after sending in my application for a student permit, I received an notification from the Canadian Embassy here that my student permit has been rejected for reasons being that they are not convinced that I will return back to my home country once I complete my course at Conestoga college in Ontario Canada.

Despite having sent them numerous of my documentation and having a large majority of my work and education life in the U.A.E and also I had included the college acceptance letter and payment of the 1st semester fees during the visa documentation process.

What could be the correction I need to do next time I reapply ? what you think I can do better in the reapplication ?

Your thoughts and inputs will be really appreciated

Thanks
Sam

I myself got rejected too that I am not a bonafide student that will return to my home country after studying.

In your case you need to show strong ties in your home country in all aspect, family wise and as well work opportunities

BTW, Did you apply in abu dhabi UAE? If so can you share when did you submit your application and is online or paperbased?

Hi same i applied in abu dhabi last Feb 3 and got rejected after 2 weeks. And so I reapplied and now waiting for 7 weeks now.. I am really worried. When did you lodge your application?

I would show proof of funds for a return flight home after your student permit expires or show proof that you have a return flight booked for your departure home after your temporary stay in Canada.

Hi everyone,

I had a "refugee status" in Brazil for 1 month. There is no marks in my passport other than Indian & Brazil immigration stamp. Will it be a problem if i apply for a Student Visa in Canada..??

1.If yes, is there any way to avoid it.??
2.If i apply for new passport and cancelling the present one,can it be helpful..??
3.Is there any way to trace my travel history from cancelled passport number..??

*There is no criminal case against me in both countries till now.( India & Brazil)

Aima. try and see if you can, cause I'm not sure if you can get an 1 year or 2 year return ticket

My suggestion to you is, get the caips report and resubmit the application again with a good adviser

I don't think it will be a problem, however they do require you to have traveled a bit including the countries US, Australia and UK. And yes they can trace your travel history. Speak to an education consultant on how to proceed with your case.

Hello,

I lodged my application beginning of May, now I applied for my caips. What about you ? did you reapply directly without checking your caips ?

Most probably you will get an update on middle of June, which college did you apply for ? and for which month intake ?
