Call them tomorrow. You should be ok, just explain your situation (tell them you were not thinking straight when you typed).

Yes, the preassessment was approved and they sent me an invitation to apply in September sent the doc on October 25 and got the file number. I don't know what they do in Pre-assessment but when I talked with them in August the lady I think her name was gingi told me they verify your H1b with USCIS and then send you Invitation to apply anyway i think now that they have removed Pre-Assessment I think we are going to see a lot more denials and shorter timelines for everyone Mine I think took Over 60 days after I sent the Invitation package.
Everyone dont loose heart this was a good program and I encourage people to apply for it but when too many people apply they were bond to become strict overtime and what makes me really mad is that all the Certificates issued till date are 2171 and I only saw 1 biologist approved in this form. What about Other seems they simply don't want them for right now. I wish I had applied earlier maybe I would have had a better chance.

I have been actively reading these forums on Alberta but never posted, I applied for Pre-Assessment got the package File # XXXX-XX-27X. Today I have received a letter of Denial from Alberta under NOC 1111 I am an accountant, There is no Appeal Process and Decision is Final so I guess I move on. Thanks everyone for their help & inputs I guess so many people are applying they are beginning to deny some application. Good Luck everyone.
Seems Like 2171 are getting more pieces of the cake as Alberta wants to be the new IT Hub, But they don't realize many of us are just using Alberta as a back up rather than really moving there.

Go to the nearest Indian embassy in person and they will issue the police certificate on the same day. Make sure to be there before 10:30 am., that's when they collect the passports and issue a token.
Is this applicable even if passports were not issued in the US?

Yeah, there are a lot of IT guys applying through this stream (but i dont think they will be acting strictly for IT people). I am pretty sure they check your letter of employment, job title and education in the second stage. I am also in the same shoes as you. I have applied in a category that is not listed under pressure list but my education and job related duties are similar to what they have listed in one of the titles in under pressure list. Anyway, I will be sending back my invitation package on friday, and will know the fate of my application in 3 months or so. If it goes through, it goes through; if it doesn't, it doesn't. goodluck to all

There is no step like pre-assessment approved. All tye are checking in pre-assessment is whether a person is on H1B status for more than a year.

Pre-assessment approval does not mean a PNP certificate. It only means that they want to review all the documents to decide on the nomination.

They are simply following rules and sending out invitations to people who they need ( in nocs under demand). If Alberta has a lot of accountant and there is no supply shortage there is no reason for them to invite immigrants to Alberta. As was mentioned in the H1B call last week, they are aware some people may not want to settle in Alberta even when they are saying so but they are hoping people will give consideration to Alberta and avoid the big brothers Ontario and British Columbia which are both more expensive as well as economies are slowing down.
my two cents..

You are right. But in case of tocanadanow.....he had applied under noc 1111, i think. he is an accountant. financial auditors and accountants are listed under noc 1111, which is under pressure in alberta, not sure why his case was denied.

Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
tocanadanow posted this on another thread and it says why he was denied:

I don't know if they contacted my boss, if they did I would not know as HR Dept is different and they wouldn't tell me it is a huge firm. Reason they stated my Job Responsibility do not match with NOC, what these people want and how they determine I do not know, I have a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Michigan State and been on H1B for 2 years now. They did not even call me for anything either.
I am guessing so many people are applying they are rushing through applications and either giving a yes or a Nay... I think they picked up speed recently and therefore we are seeing denials at this point or they have changed their focus to certain NOC's given the economic hard times and job losses.
Good Luck everyone, Hope this helps everyone

Just a thought...... maybe you might want to consider to consult a lawyer if you are still willing to move to Alberta. They said that there is no appeal process and that the decision is final over your case already filed... but you can file a newly case providing more information, stronger case, etc with the help of an specialist....

may be his work experience was not in auditing/accounting....
The rule is also to have 1 year of work experience in H1B on the NOC...

He/she has an accounting degree and works as accountant and they denied him/her because the job description did not match with the NOC. I am sure this person is doing what a normal accountant does in the US. Just because the job description did not match word for word (my guess) with what they have on the NOC, they just denied. OR may be they have recieved enough accountants already, so they needed to find a reason to deny.
