Hello,
I´m a Canadian citizen, living abroad with my spouse and 2 kids. I want to sponsor my husband outland and have a question about the income requirements:

As I read in this forum, there are no minimum income requirements to sponsor a spouse, but why is there a question about the net personal income of the last 12 months on Form 5481?

Because even though they will not deny you because of income, they still want to know. It is possible that if you are making $0.00 and your spouse is also not working that they may ask you how you plan to support yourselves.

I'd like to know about this as well. I'm in the same situation, sponsoring a common-law partner.

Do I need to provide any "proof" of income, or can I just include the number in form 5481?

Unless your partner has grandchildren who are being sponsored as well, you only need 5481
