Hello everyone

For Husbands who are living in the Gulf (Abu Dhabi VO), and specifically in Saudi Arabia.
Assuming their wives are residing in Canada and sponsoring their Husbands.
During the Spousal sponsorship process and after submitting your initial papers:

Q1: Have ever been contacted by the Canadian Embassy or the Visa Center in Riyadh ? Or exclusively by Abu Dhabi VO ?
Q2: Has anyone been asked to cancel his IQAMA (Gulf residency Visa) as prove of quitting the country and settling for good in Canada ? Here I am referring to "recent" applications for the last couple of years. I saw posts about that in 2012.

Please mention dates and max details if you can :)

Thank you

Yes. Unless they are asking for something additional you can not provide. For example, they asked my wife for a police certificate.. It will also say in the letter that your visa is ready, and it expires in such and such date..

Hello

My questions are for Gulf residents (or Ex-residents) and especially who reside/resided in Saudi Arabia and are being sponsored by their Wives.

Q1: Have you ever dealt with Canadian Embassy in Riyadh during the Spousal Sponsorship process ? Or exclusively with Abu Dhabi VO ?

Q2: For recent (last couple of years) applicants; have you ever been asked to cancel your Saudi Residency Visa (IQAMA) before getting Canada PR Visa ? Or at least have you been asked to show a job resignation letter signed by your Saudi Employer ?
How tough/hard is Abu Dhabi VO is about this particular point ? Question is also for the others Gulf countries residents ...

Q3: if answer to Q3 is YES, do they automatically ask it for ALL Gulf residents applicants or when they have doubt ?

Q4: In case your PR wife in Canada, is jobless or doing modest part-time job (assuming you were supporting her financially from outside). Would it be enough to show that you have savings that cover your expenses for 3 years in Canada after joining her? Until you get a job later on. Assuming your children are 19 yr and older now (No more dependent child).

Thank you

My file was transferred to ADVO since i am working here in UAE

ADVO did not ask to cancel the visa prior the processing of my application

I am sorry but i am not sure about this maybe for those who is in canada can help with this

kiwi1959,
My wife resides in Kuwait.
1-She was not contacted by the embassy until we got the PPR email. Email asking for Police certificate+passport+2 photos.
2-"Has anyone been asked to cancel his IQAMA (Gulf residency Visa) as prove of quitting the country and settling for good in Canada ?" No.
Hope this helps.
