Asim. Surprising that it took so long for ecas to change the status. I'd done my eMedicals & it was received within 7 days only.

I guess you are right since now because of e-Madicals, the results reach the CIC offices very quickly.

hi Everyone
does anybody know a good or even decent Consultant/ lawyer in Dubai? im sponsoring my wife and am finding the whole thing very stressful, not sure if im on the right track here. need help.
thanks guys

hi everyone,
im sponsoring my wife, im a canadian citizen, we both live in Dubai, in the Immigrant's guide, under "residents of Iran" , they require below:

Additional details for residents of Iran
(Original certified translations into English or French with photocopies of the Farsi originals.)
2 IDENTITY AND CIVIL STATUS DOCUMENTS
Identity cards (“Shenas Nameh”) for the principal applicant, spouse or common-law partner and
all family members issued by the General Department of Civil Status and Census Registration,
Ministry of the Interior.

Military service card (where applicable.)

do they actually need the birth certificate of her whole family? like brother, sister, mother?
she is the only applicant with no dependents and her family is not included anywhere in this process or application.
anyone has any experience with this?

I mean Do we even need this, considering we both live in Dubai?

IM5540

thank you, here is another one confusing question on the spousal sponsorship Questionnaire IM5540:
I am the sponsor, my wife the applicant.. we both reside in Dubai.

#15: are you a naturalized Canadian or permanent resident of Canada?
Answer options : Yes or No
My answer is YEs (since i am a Canadian citizen by naturalization)
if YEs: on what date did you become a permanent resident? (so is that the date i entered
Canada? or is that the date my PR papers were issued before i move to Canada? or even the date my citizenship was issued?)
it gets even trickier on the next question:
"Which Canadian Visa Office issued your immigrant Visa or confirmation of permanent residence?" ( how the heck do i know that? i moved to Canada 18 years ago. How do i even get this information? what Canadian visa offices are there? should i just put like :Toronto? )

Anothe question from "Application to sponsor From IMM1344:
Question 7:
are you a permanent resident or naturalized Canadian citizen... provide the date on which you obtained this status?

well, im a naturalized Canadian and received my citizenship card in 1999. but on my citizenship card, there is no "Day,Month" on the issue date, its just the year. it says : 1999. when filling out this question however, by default they need Day, Month and Year, otherwise the application will not validate.
Anybody else have issues with this?
what should i Do?
Help Please.

Boy PR date is the date when PR was issued to you by XYZ Visa Office.Same Visa office is PR issuer to you.
As per your comments you are Canadian Citizen Check the date on Canadian Citizen Ship certificate when you attended the oath ceremony and if you cant find the date check with CIC you can call them Call center they will guide you for sure or write an email to VO in Abudhabi they would reply you back after one month

By the way it you country you should know better than us :)
