Sorry to say there is no tentative timeline that can be given to you that would be accurate. They are processing apps filed in the spring, March, April and May.
On an average how long does is spousal sponsorship taking for most people?
If I were to drop an application today..

Any inputs?

IRCC might have extended the medical expiration date.

Hi All,
Guys, i am PR holder planning to permanently move to Canada in February 2020. I wish to sponsor my spose (Outland) for the PR :
1. How much time will it take to get the PR for my spouse ?
2. After how much time can I expect AOR for my spouse.
3. Can I plan to bring my spouse through student visa ? if so, will it have any impact on the Spousal PR application ? Will the PR only be given when the student visa expires or student visa will be replaced by PR once PR is provided ?

I know given the unprecedented times its difficult to provide definite answer, but a rough estimation will work.

Can anyone tell me what the application status ‘Submitted’ means in spousal category? We are done with medical and SA, waiting for AOR2.

Hello everyone. My wife PR in canada.. I summit my file on 27 jan... In feb 20 i received medical and biomatic request.. And on 26 feb AIP.. Then same time my file transfer nova scotia to Mississauga office.. Now feb to now no update.. Just showing medical received.. Security background checking now.. Anyone know how much time take more???
Similar scenario. As of now they have sent PPR request to people who applied in September - October 2019. So we will just have to wait for our turn.

I know given the unprecedented times its difficult to provide definite answer, but a rough estimation will work.
1. Normally it takes around 12 months but more like 18 months right now due to COVID-19 processing delays.
2. It's taking several months these days. I would plan on 4-6.
3. Yes, your spouse can apply for a study permit. No impact to the PR application. It will be more difficult to get a study permit approved for your spouse since IRCC may think your spouse is not a genuine student but is instead just looking for a way to move to Canada earlier. To increase the chances of approval, your spouse needs to pick studies in Canada that make sense in light of their previous education and work experience. Their studies in Canada should be at a higher level than they previously completed (e.g. if they previously complete a bachelor they should go for a masters in Canada). Once the PR application is approved, your spouse will become a PR.
