Hello everyone
Newbie here.
I am going backhome this coming December to get married .
My future wife has a multiple entry visa . So I am automatically drawn the big/old debate : Inland or Outland application , in January 2019 .
sorry if this may have been debated elsewhere .
From what I read outland takes 4-5 months and inland 10-11 months.

I want her to be with me in January (Toronto), for inland application, but a few things worry me :
1- it will take her 13-14 months to get OHIP! Not sure about the cost/effectiveness of 14months of visitors health insurance.
2- Not having access to ESL (English classes ) for the 10-11 months ( she is not eligible as a visitor). other options may be out there?
3- What, for any reason , the application is denied f ? worse : and she is pregnant ...Ooops! What will be the options?

I really appreciate the help of follow veterans in this forum for some insight.
Cheers all

Yes, passport request is the final step before issuing COPR. It will change to decision made once they issue the visa (after they receive your passport and photos). Congrats!
Great, thank you! I just coulnd't believe it, cause we've only just sent out my application at the end of June, so its been 4 month only. That's incredibly fast of them Ii guess :))))))

Hey guys,

Quick question: I've passed my medical about a month ago, and today received an email requesting my passport and 2 pictures, saying they need it to issue my PR Confirmation and visa. When I check the status online though (wasn't able to link my application, so Im using theior online tool), it says my application is still in progress. Does it mean it got approved?
Hey, Congrats. Where did you apply from ?

Hey everyone! This is amazing, I posted this in a previous thread about foreign spousal pregnancy... but believe this is where more value will be given in terms of Family Class- Spousal Sponsorship.

Here's the previous thread: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/insurance-for-pre-existing-condition-like-pregnancy.27676/page-2#post-7340817

"Regarding my American fiance's sponsorship process into Canada, our main concern was Pregnancy. But I have a few more questions...
1) When would my fiance receive OHIP? Let's say we Receive her Confirmation of Permanent Residency on Feb 1st, 2019? Does that mean May 1st, 2019 (3 months later) is when we can go to Service Ontario and get her OHIP? Or is there something else involved with this process? And this, unlike pregnancy insurance would be valid even if she were already pregnant...

2) Will applying now, under Conjugal Relationship Status effect our Sponsorship success rate?
Would our Religious reasons as to why we cannot cohabitate and have a Common-Law relationship be viable? Or Should we wait until we are married in June next year to send in the paperwork with "Status: Married"? Reason for asking, and not waiting the (less than) 7 months, is because she could be approved within that time already.

3) After researching more, Outland Sponsorship is better for Americans, is this possible even if my fiance is staying in (visiting) Ontario, and travelling back into America 3-4 times per month? Apparently, as long as her address is still in USA, this is okay? And because, if we do inland sponsorship, she will have to stay in Canada for 12 months, with risk of not being able to re-enter into Canada if leaving.

4) I have heard/ read that Canadians sponsoring Americans is typically approved in 4-6 months, what could we do to smooth out this process and succeed in 4-6 months? Is this worth involving, hiring, and paying a lawyer?"

5)
After reviewing timelines above, it shows "PPR" which I believe is "Passport Requested." My Fiance has been travelling in and out of Canada using her Enhance Driver's License, will she need a Passport to be sponsored into Canada?

Thank you so much in advance! I appreciate it. And I hope a few of these questions will help others.

Don't apply under conjugal. Refusal is guaranteed. Conjugal is reserved for situations where marriage and common law aren't possible due to real immigration barriers. You face no such barriers and must wait until you are either married or common law to apply. As mentioned in your other thread, passport is mandatory to apply. Lawyer doesn't make the process faster. To make sure the process is smooth, you need to ensure your application is complete. She can apply outland and visit Ontario. Note that whether she is allowed back into Canada and for how long will always be up to the CBSA officer.

Hi everyone,

Just needed some input.
Here is our timeline:

Application received March 1, 2018
Completed Police clearance and medical in May 2018
Received Pre-arrival services letter today (October 31, 2018)
Also, it says Decision Made on the CIC website.

When can I expect the PPR and how long does it take to get the passport back?

Thank you!

Hi Everyone,

Just wondering, how long it take to receive the acknowledgement of receipt. I submitted application for my friend in middle of July 2018 and so far we did not heard anything from CIC. What is the normal timeline? Is there way we can contact them and find out? Or is there a possibility file is not delivered?

If you can please help.

Thanks,

2013/14- lived and worked in Cambodia (played poker at various casinos)
2015/16- lived and worked in Canada (partner with Speedvale Autodetailing)
2017/18 and present- lived and worked in Vietnam and Cambodia (played poker at various casinos)
How would I fill this out in the 'sponsors employment history' section?
Would this affect my sponsorship eligibility in any way?
