Can someone explain what MP means? When I can contact them and what they do?

Member of Parliament. They can inquire about status. They cannot speed up processing or change a decision.

Hello, everyone! Just want to say thank you to all of you for answering all my questions when I was still putting my application together and when I was waiting for approval. With all of your help and the valuable information I found from this forum, my visa was approved in 4 months and 2 weeks with no additional document request. :) Thank you, everyone! :)
Big thanks to all seniors!! :) You guys rock!

Wow! Your processing was fast! Hopefully mine will be this fast as well hehe. I'm a March applicant with AOR1 on hand. You can now focus on prepping your move :) Goodluck and Godbless :)

Will this look a bad thing to CIC if contact MP? Does it cost something?

It doesn't cost anything. How helpful the MP is really varies from person to person. Note there's really no point contacting your MP unless you're over the processing time listed on the CIC web site. Looks like you applied inland - so if you've been waiting for over two years, MP inquiry might be helpful. Otherwise it won't be.

Just landed last night, today I went and applied for a SIN. They weren't able to give me a SIN # same day and said I'm going to have to wait 5 weeks for my card to come in the mail. I called the head office for SIN's and they said sometimes if your account gets flagged or there are system issues then you have to wait for CIC to confirm with the head office and confirm you're good and it takes 5 weeks. Kinda sucks, wanted to get started on obtaining a car, credit, etc... but at least I was able to land and move. They said all new immigrants over the last month or so have been having to do it this way, I bet it has to do with the new immigration forms and stuff...

Best wishes everyone

Hi everyone,

I was recently approved as a sponsor, but my wife is still in the process for her permanent residency. before I was able to link my application, I received the email that I was approved and that my wife would receive a request to send the schedule A background declaration form, but no request was made. I was able to link her application online, but there has been no messages from CIC regarding the background form, there has been no emails either. I did fill out and send the background form and police certs with the original application, so I am curious what happened to them...

Secondly, when my wife logs into her application online it says:

Application status: We received your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.

So does this mean the visa office has received her application already? I thought CIC would only send the application to the visa office after they received the background form. The background section says this:

Background check: Your application is in progress. The next step is to conduct a background check.

So I don't know what's up, if the Visa office received her application or this just refers to CIC-Mississauga.

It's been almost 2 weeks and I have got no email, no message on the application, nothing. I sent a "report a technical issue" form, but I don't know what that will come too.

Does anyone have any advice? Thanks.

hi forumers,

need some help if should i apply for an extension of my TRV my PR application receiceved by IRCC on 22nd of March and my TRV will expire on 2nd of May
thank you in advance

I dont think you need to apply for TRV right now, wait for your OWP which will take approx 4 months and then you can apply for TRV only if you have plans to leave Canada for some days. You have implied status so you will not be illegal after May 2.

Hey ,
Q1- you can either write at the back of the picture , or organize them in Microsoft Word and add text below each picture .
Q2 -Doesn't matter how you arrange them , CP-Mississauga will re-arrange them , but it make sense to put the forms together according to the check list and then evidence together right after that.

Hi Seniors i have a question. I am applying for my wife`s PR and i had question about the wedding pictures do we have to write about who is who in the picture at the back also ? i just wrote about the occasion and generally on which occasion was the picture taken. Do we need to add more information as well??? do let me know about that

regards

If your visa office is ottawa that means is your application inland ??? sorry for bugging you just wanted to clear some facts n figures in mind.

Thank you for the help in advance

Hi All,

My husband has submitted my application to MISSISSAUGA Office on Feb 2017.
We have received an email to submit latest pictures on 10 March 2017.
Received medical request on 15 March 2017
Medical Test: 27th March 2017

Just wondering if, IOM will submit my medical to LVO or CIC ? Or after this they may require any other document? What could be next step ?

question ,,

Can I submit 2015 NOA as i haven;t revived for the 2016 ?

and write a letter explaining above and attach t4 ?

Hello 2017 applicants!

Quick question, did anybody of you included Schedule A and PCC in your new kit application? Even though it says there not to include yet.. :D
