Unfortunately, I don't think there is. I was told sometime in late 2014 that in order to be common law we needed to live together and in order to live together, I needed to be a resident or student. I went with that until a few months ago when I was told by an operator on the CanadaVisa website that I can actually be sponsored and work in the US at the same time. I didn't put my name on anything as I was afraid it would potentially put me in a predicament with the Canadian government. The landlord knows I pay half and Port of entry records should show that I cross everyday but I don't think there is any physical evidence.. I doubt there are any exceptions, aside from marriage?

I'm not sure what you mean by exceptions. Your options are either to apply as a married couple or as a common law couple. To apply under common law, you must have hard evidence to prove the full year of cohabitation. Those are your two options.

Ok, I will see if I have anything and hopefully I don't have to wait another year! On another note, might I ask how you came across all this information? Experience? Online research, etc?

Both online research and experience - I sponsored my husband (American) for PR several years ago. I would recommend you do as much online research as possible.

Our inland sponsorship application was received by cic May 2015, we still haven't heard from cic on their decision. Is this a good or bad thing??

Hi there
Does anyone have any idea how the situation would look like if I marry my girlfriend (I'm in Canada on PR she is English). I've met my girlfriend in Canada, she worked here for a bit over one year, now she's in England. We want to be together and we want to live in Canada. Does anyone know what would be the best option for us? If we get married and I sponsor her, can she get like a temporary work permit to be here before she gets her PR?

Thanks

Hello guys ,
I have few questions regarding spousal sponsorship:
1.I am not doing job since May 2015 as I am preparing for my license exam.So will that affect my application?
2.We married in Aryasamaj with just 26 people. Will that be a problem?
3.I haven't done a reception however so can we show it that we are going to do in December as officially we are planning to?
4.we did engagement with around 150 people and now marriage we invited just 25 people so will they doubt it?

Hello sparth 1989,
1.I am not doing job since May 2015 as I am preparing for my license exam.So will that affect my application?

Ans: No it will not affect your application.

2.We married in Aryasamaj with just 26 people. Will that be a problem?

Ans: No problem at all.

3.I haven't done a reception however so can we show it that we are going to do in December as officially we are planning to?

Ans:You can ,but later you have to proof it if interview required.

4.we did engagement with around 150 people and now marriage we invited just 25 people so will they doubt it?

Ans: Give honest explanation it will save your application from doubt. Do not hide anything and explain the true story.

Hi All

My complete application is already since 12th May in the Paris Visa Office.
I think is a straightforward application, as my wife and 2 children have Canadian passport (myself am Spanish)

The only additional documents they requested ( and it seems not all Visa offices request it) was the document of the "last 10years travel story of applicant and spouse", and was sent to them 22nd May.

Know is short time in theoretical processing time, however on the Spreadsheet Timelines and according to other applicants in this forum that went though that office, my Decision Made should have been already done.

I am not sure if I have to call already or is it bad that I call them. ( actually I don´t know the number where to call)
same happens with the "IRCC Webform - Paris" ; I don´t know If it is Ok, or negative if I use it to ask fo info

In Resume, in general terms still is low processing time, but as said at least in the first months of 2016 it seemed that Paris VO was going very fast . And that latter positive thing makes that now I am getting nervous, due to the lack of change in my application, when I had presumed that I would have already the DM and COPR :(

So... what is the best I can do ? Wait or contact them ?

Regards

I am going through Paris as Well and i am may 2nd applicant they resuested school information and to pay thelanding fées so hopefully it wont bé long after that. Thye they resuested to pay thé fées

Hi all,

my first post here.

I wish I would have found this forum before I did it all the hard way :D

Anyway, I sent the sponsorship application and all the PR paper work to Mississauga and they received it May 30. I received the Sponsorship approval July 28 and the PR application has been sent to Singapore ( Thailand). I didn't include the medical reports for my wife and step-daughter at the time as I was concerned they would expire. We will have the medicals done this weekend and send it off to the Singapore office after that.

I also did not include police certificates for the same reason and also I was led to believe that if a police clearance was required they would ask for it later.

Waiting now to see how long it takes for Singapore to start the process.

Good luck to all!
