thank you so much for your advice. I may have not been clear, i was not mentioned on her visit visa when she applied some time last year. However she is going to mention the fact that her visit was rejected on the form IMM5669 Q6. We are going to be completely transparent on our forms to show our genuine plea. I am just nervous if it might work against us.

Thanks,

Oh yes this will be perfectly fine! Obviously when a couple is serious about each other they want to try to visit the other's home! You weren't married or common law at the time so she didn't need to mention you in it. I think it would be stranger if a couple never tried for a visitor visa! No need to be nervous, especially with one rejection. If she had a large number, it would be more suspicious, but one is perfectly normal and I think adds more validity to your relationship.

Hello everyone!
I would like to ask an advice about my concern about this topic.
I and my husband are in a relationship since 2009. He is currently a PR and went back here in the Philippines last Nov. 8, 2014 in preparation for our wedding last Dec. 27,2014. He stayed here for almost four months and went back to Canada last March 5.
We went over the forms for the spousal sponsorship. It is indicated there to provide his income for the last twelve months past the application. Our concern is that in his 4 months stay here in the Philippines, he was unemployed therefore he did not have any salary during that period. How would that affect our application in the future?
Currently, he has 3 part time jobs.
Hoping to hear from you guys soon! Thanks in advance!

This shouldn't be a problem. There is no minimum income requires for spousal sponsorship. CIC just wants to know that the sponsor will be able to support the spouse. To prove that he will be able to financially sponsor you, your husband can show the income from his current 3 part time jobs, he can show any savings he has, you can show any savings you may have, if you will have family support who will provide money or living accommodations you can have them write a letter showing this support to CIC. Also, it could help if you and/or your husband have a good educational background, you can show university degrees that may help in getting a decent paying job. Some and all of these will help CIC to feel confident that your husband will be able to support you once u arrive in Canada as a PR.

Thanks tink23 for the response! ;)

She can't get an OWP at port of entry on a TRV. She will have to apply for a work permit and whatever company that will hire her will have to pay $1000 for LMO and prove that there are no Canadians or Pars that are able to do the job.

Hi. My wife is Canadian and she will sponsor me to immigrate to Canada (I am Polish).
We are filling our applications in, we are almost finished but I have a few questions, so please help!

1. 'Generic Application Form for Canada' - the PDF file doesn't allow me to put Polish letters but the application says: 'Family name(s) exactly as shown on your passport or travel document'. Well, my passport includes Polish letters, so I am confused.
2. 'Application to Sponsor' - the same problem - no option to put Polish letters in my name.
3. 'Additional family information' form - should I put the names of my parents and sisters even if they are not coming with us to Canada and I know that they will probably never immigrate to Canada?
4. 'Sponsored Spouse/Partner Questionnaire' - I am able to put Polish letters in my name here. Should I put them or not (like I didn't in 'Generic Application' and 'Application to Sponsor')?
5. 'Schedule A' - again, I am able to put Polish letters in the PDF file.
6. What fees do I and my wife have to pay?

Thank you for your help!

Sponsor (Canadian or PR) $75.00
Principal Applicant (spouse) $475.00
*the 2 above must be paid with your application
Right of Permanent Residency $490.00
*you can and should pay this as well with the other 2 but you can wait

TOTAL FOR 1 SPOUSE NO CHILDREN $1040.00 Canadian

for the section to put the native names, you can print and hand write it
Thank you for your help!

Post your question to the Foreign Workers section of the forum, this is for PRs and citizens sponsoring their spouses, which is a totally different process. I don't believe she can get an OWP at the port of entry, but as I mentioned, this is a completely system.

Hi everyone! i am in the process of gathering all the documents for spousal sponsorship, i was wondering if anyone here has an idea on what are the documents and type of form that i need to include in order for me to apply for an open work permit?? thanks in advance!

I am Dec 3rd applicant but haven't received my SA yet. When i checked ECAS using applicant's info they have updated my husband's(Applicant) address.
Is this normal for everyone?

Check your (sponsor's) email box (search for "CIC") for SA, you should have received it already. If nothing shows up, you should give CIC a call.

Hello Everyone,
I am about to process the spousal sponsorship with an open work permit but I have no idea how to do it and what forms do it need to use. Please give me some advise . Thank You. Your Response is Highly appreciated.

Hi. I am a Canadian citizen and newly married to a Filipino husband. I have already submitted the application to sponsor a spouse about a month ago. I was reading this forum and found out that there is a question in IMM 5669 Q6 if the principal applicant has been refused a visitor visa to Canada or any other country. My husband applied for a Canadian visitor visa 6 yrs ago but the application was denied. I reviewed the form that we sent and realized that he put NO as the answer to question #6. What should he do? Does he need to send a new form and admit to CIC that he made a mistake in answering one of the questions in the form? If he submits a new IMM 5669, will my application be placed at the end of the queue? I have not received any SA as the application has not yet been processed. Jan 12 applications are currently being processed as of March 10th. I submitted my application on Feb 16th. Please help.
