What country are you from? With a big age difference, her having no income, you've never met in person, and want to get married and apply for PR right after meeting her, I'd say you have a high chance of rejection. It could look to visa officer like you are just using her to get PR status.
If you really want her to sponsor you, you should spend time together in person first, before thinking about getting married.

There are many ref flags on your case

1. Age Gap
2. No income of sponsor(Anyways for spousal visa this is not they actually look for)
3. She gets benefits
4. Online relationship and never met each other

As suggested you need to first spend time with each other in person and even after than you may be required to proove that you are not using this to get into canada to get status.
All the best :)

Thanks for the advice. The other option I thought of was to only apply for the tourist visa and when we return from vacation then apply for the permanent residency. Would that make it less "suspicious"? Our plan really is just to visit family and friends and then return.

You can file for tourist visa but chances would be slim. It all depends how you prove yourself that you will be not settling in canada or will be back to your home country before your visa expires.

It generally makes it more difficult, as CIC typically concludes that it is not

What i really need to know is how can we go for a visit? It's fine with me to start the permanent residency at a later time but what is the "easiest" way for us to gofor a vacation? I was born in Canada, I must have some rights to travel with my wife?

So how does a Canadian citizen go for a vacation with his wife to his native country? Or do I have to go alone? It sounds really bizarre to me

where is she from? You being born in canada allows you to come to canada but for your wife, she need to prove her own credentials and satisfy the rules. check with PR processing time of your wife country and file for it. And wait for it rather than filing for visit or tourist and get disappointed.

I dont mind to pull you back but rules are rules.

She is Mexican and we both live here. So what is the best way to apply first for a tourist visa? We can deal with the residency issue later.

as per my knowledge i would suggest not to your relationship with her and file for the visit or tourist visa. Once she gets her visa both land in canada get married and file for inland spousal application so you both can stay in canada till her visa gets approved. If not you can come back to mexico and file for outland application.

Note: I am not immigration consultant/lawyer this is just a suggestion as per my knowledge. Final decision/Call would be yours to take it ot leave it.

First thanks for the advice . I appreciate it but let me tell you all the details. We both live here in Mexico. We will be getting married June 6th. After the wedding we would like to go to Canada as a visit/honeymoon. We're thinking of September as the date to travel. So we will already be married when we apply for whatever type of vise she needs. Any more advice? Please

Forget the residency issue. We can start that when we come back to Mexico From our vacation. Does that make it clearer? Thanks again

then i would suggest you to file for his tourist/visit visa before you get married as after marraige you cannot hide details as it calls for mispresentation. File before you get married stating as your travel date as september once you are back complete the rest of the process. But filing after marriage, then file for residence visit or tourist would have next to zero chances. but filing before marriage might have 50-50.

All the best :)

What I am confused about is why would it be easier to file before we are married and not after? I don't want to misrepresent anything. I want to be honest and say that I want to bring my wife to Canada so we can visit my family and friends. There is no alterior motive. We are in NO hurry for the residency as I have a good job here in Mexico. We just want to visit Canada as I haven't been back for 6 years and she has never been.
