Pl advise one of my friend just lodged an application for sponsoring wife , pl advise how long CPC M takes to approve sponsor - this is only for approving sponsor - SO THAT he can then extend his wife's work permit based on this

Since you mentioned CPC-M, this would be an outland application. The spouse's work permit will not be extended based upon sponsor approval for an outland application. If she needs to extend her temporary status in Canada, she will need to apply and qualify like any other foreign national.

He means "longer than you want or hope". Some visa offices take 29 months to complete the PR phase.

Its like you can read my mind.......

Good to know you need 10 posts to be able to edit profile info.

a) that's an average for completion of 80% of applications
b) it doesn't take into account the current strike action.

Some applications may take much longer.

Hello everyone, I've noticed there are a few here who know a little more about the whole sponsorship process than many of us. So, I would like to share my timeline and maybe someone here can help me out. Or just guessing what the next step might be will also be very helpful.

( As you can see on the left)
I applied April 3 2012
I received sponsorship approval July 3 2012
My application was first sent to Damascus than Amman
I traveled to Iraq to see my husband in September 2012 until January 15 2013
While I was away, January 13 2013, I received an email from Amman VO requesting Schedule A. They wanted it within 20 days. Unfortunately, I didn't see this email until February. I sent an email February 17 attached Schedule A and apologized for the delay.
On the 27th of January, my ecas changed to "in process"

Then waited...

On May 22, I got a call from Amman VO. He told me they were trying to contact me since April. He said he was looking for my husband ?? I said my husband was in Syria but due to the issues there he went back to Iraq. He asked for his phone number and I thought this might be my only chance to ask questions lol so i asked a little too many. But the guy was more than kind to answer all of them.

I made sure I mentioned that I sent the requested Schedule A in February. He said he didnt know what I was talking about but he will check. I also asked at what stage my husband's process was at he said he needs to redo the medical and usually the background check and medicals are the last stage but the longest. He sent me an email with the medical form.

Second medical: May 26

June 2nd: the same guy called my husband and told him he didnt receive Schedule A. My husband told him everything you asked for my wife sent. The officer emailed me and said they will make their final decision if they dont receive it soon. 15 minutes later, another email from him apologizing and asking us to ignore the previous message as he found it.

requested Gcms notes: June 6 ( Also sent an email attached letter from obstetrician that I was pregnant with my second)

Received gcms notes: July 4 2013

- May 22, 2013 note: contacted spr/replied, told me her husband is in iraq, his phone number *******.

- February 27, 2013 note: They have my email copied and pasted and wrote documents attached printed and attached to file ( including schedule A) . Med reassessment needed

- January 27, 2013 note: FOSS checked ( no adverse info on sponsor). Satisfied relationship is BF. Elig passed.

---------

July 5 2013 : Ecas updated " medical results have been received"

I apologize for the long post :-[ But I would really appreciate it if someone can give me a clue on what will be the next step. Will there be another background check? Will they want to interview us? And how much longer am I going to have to wait?

ps I mentioned earlier Im pregnant with my second and Im due end of September. Should I send another email informing them about this and that I would like my husband to be with me on that day to support me? We will be both upset if he missed his second child's birth.

Thanks

I don't think anyone can tell you exactly how much longer exactly but once the background is complete it can take 45 days to 2 months to get the COPR.

Her husband is the PR and will be the sponsor for her file. If he can provided the receipt for the payment of the application then I think its possible for her to get her extension.

CPC-M for outland applications. For inland applications you can pay and send the receipt to the local office when your file has been approved for landing.

For outland it must ALWAYS go to CPC-M because they are the ones that must update GCMS to indicate the RPRF has been paid.

I did not pay mine upfront and paid online later. Once you pay online make a copy of your receipt and fax it to:

905-803-7392

or mail it to:

Case Processing Centre - Mississauga
Citizenship and Immigration Canada
P.O. Box 6100 Station A
Mississauga ON L5A 4H4

Thank you both for the prompt replies. I can get this in the mail first thing Monday. In regards to 'evidence of the relationship's legitimacy', what sort of materials do they look for?

I mean, I have a copy of the marriage certificate, bus tickets, plane boarding passes, photographs, photocopies of handwritten letters, printed screenshots of 300+ email folder, and about 100 pages of a 400-page call log...

Think that'd be enough to avoid being called in for an interview? ;P

Edit - Second Question: Due to being in college and living with parents for the last three years (until December of last year) I have not filed taxes for the previous three years, and therefore have no Option C Printout to include with my application. As a result, I was planning to include copies of my college transcripts, possibly my acceptance letter, and a letter explaining the reasoning behind not having filed taxes (and thus, having no Option C)

Will doing this (and having no Option C Printout) hurt my likelihood of sponsorship?
