hello, i sent my sponsorship application on march 11, without the medical exams or police checks, im waiting for them to ask, is that how usually works? or i should send all together, im currently living in canada.

:D

what is your nationality? You can order your PCC as it will save you time later. As, far as medicals go you should wait until they ask for them since you didn't send them with ur application. Medicals are valid for 1 year unless CIC extends it which only happens if everything else has been processed!
You need PCC for all countries except Canada where you lived for more than 6 months since you turned 18!

Most of the people send PCC and Medical along with application, but if you are staying away from your home country then you should get PCC at the earliest. Sending documents along with application reduces the total processing time of your case.

Thanks Computergeek,

Does this mean that I should apply for the spousal sponsorship through New Delhi . Any Idea how long do they keep passport when ask for stamping? Do they ask for interview before submittal of the passport or later. In case if they ask for interview after submittal of the passport I would not be able to travel for interview. What is the remedy available?

Many thanks,

Susa

Yes I meant if I can call my wife through visit visa...along with my case being filled for her sponsorship too.. Would they allow it or just reject it ?

Ali, you mean whether your wife can apply for visit visa to visit you?

After you have submitted the immigration application (remember to follow all guidelines for submission by following instruction at CIC website. You have to submit your forms, your wife's forms, and supporting documents together), then after a few months later your wife may apply for visit visa. Remember that, it is very slim for a visit visa to be approved from certain countries.

Again, may be you may ask this in the Islamabad Forum. I gave you the link in my previous post to you.

Susa, what I understand from other forum members, for New Delhi applicants, they usually ask for the applicant's (the person who is coming to Canada as immigrant) Passport early in the process and they may keep it for many months.

I would suggest, you look at the posts at the New Delhi forum here:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/new-delhi-2013-applicants-t132103.0.html

Of course, if you have any question, feel free to ask here :)

You also seem to have PR related inquiries. Have you tried to get answers by looking at the posts here:

NDVO will "request" your passport at the beginning of the process - but they don't tell you that you MUST send it, just "to expedite processing". Thus, it's really not required you send it at that point - NDVO is unique as far as I can tell in asking for passports early in the process. They don't NEED your passport until you have been approved and they are ready to issue the visa.

If you need your passport after you have submitted it, you will need to request that they return it to you. I have seen people run into this situation, which is why I caution anyone who will need it to advise NDVO that you cannot submit it until such time as the visa is ready for issue because you require it.

I've never seen them ask for an interview AFTER they have asked for the passport, so it would seem that they don't ask for it if there is doubt about the relationship.

Sponsorship approval goes pretty fast. Its the PR processing that can take forever.

HI FRIENDS,

Pl advise one of my friend just lodged an application for sponsoring wife , pl advise how long CPC M takes to approve sponsor - this is only for approving sponsor - SO THAT he can then extend his wife's work permit based on this

Sponsorship approval is only 1 or 2 parts for the immigration process. I think the current processing time is about 1 month.

He means "longer than you want or hope". Some visa offices take 29 months to complete the PR phase.
