Tell the border officer you are landing - show your passport and your COPR. She or he will refer you to secondary inspection, where you will queue and wait until called to a counter officer, who will take your documents, ask you a couple of questions, including if you are importing any goods (B4/B4A forms). When I did it the officer asked me to go sit down and he would call me when done. I didn't have any B4/B4A forms so the process was ~5 min.

She or he will go over the COPR and confirm that you haven't had a family composition change (this is a BIG deal for FSW, not usually so for sponsored family) and that you don't have any criminality issues (except as disclosed to CIC already). Initial, sign, stamp, staple and you're done.

I know police certificates are valid for one year. But here's my question: assuming the applicant hasn't been back to that country, will CIC require a new one after the one year mark?

In our case, my husband was a student in the US, hence we had to provide an FBI report. He hasn't been back in the US since. His FBI report will expire at the end of March. Knowing that it takes up to 8 weeks for the FBI report, we'd like to know if it is necessary to order one now. This way we will save some time if VO requests one.

As per the last status of our application, we are waiting for medical extension and all other stages are passed.

Thanks in advance.

Since everything else is passed, I wouldn't expect them to ask for a new US PCC. Once they have the medical extension back, you should get PPR...

Thank you! Good news :)

Do you think it's advisable to write to our VO and inquire about this?

You can but I suspect they'll just ignore you. But you might get lucky. CPP-O seems to be almost indulgent in their willingness to respond.

I have a couple of questions that I hope you can help me with ??? I am Canadian but have been living in Taiwan for 10 years. My wife and I have a daughter together who has Taiwanese and Canadian citizenship:

1) Where do I write my daughter's information? Is she a dependent on my wife's immigration application form and my sponsorship application form?

2) As I have not been working in Canada for over 10 years, do I still apply for the original option C printout from the Canada Revenue Agency?

Thanks in advance for all of your help!

hey!

1- your daughter is not a dependent on the application form as she is already canadian - no need to sponsor her. But you have to include the information in the "additional family info"

2- if you can't provide an option C (and in your case you can't as you don't live in Canada), then instead put your pay stubs, and letter from employer etc - see in the guideline for sponsorship, there is an explanation on what else you can do if you don't have an option C.

Good luck,
Sweden

I have few questions that I need authenticated answers, not based on someone's personal judgment; my concerns are as following by 2 means:

1. what if a wife expects a baby in few months and they file their case for sponsorship now, husband will be sponsoring the case before delivery of the baby. Will it add time/delay in processing of Visa if they get their baby delivered and then file their case during the ongoing process of wife case?

2. What if they do not apply their case now and wait for the baby delivery and then case the file of wife and dependent in the same file?

what will be the timeline difference between both of the cases? which will take more processing time ? what is better option in both?

were is wife and husband are they both residing in canada? i would do the sponsorship now whilst she is pregnant and mention to the immigration officer that she is pregnant on the application they might need some proof and it might speed your application as well.

Okay....
how much will it add delay in means of time if case is applied now and baby's file is submitted at time of birth?
