I traveled to the US a lot for business and contacted the Canadian Boarder Patrol and received a statement of my entering and leaving the country. Maybe she could do that as well at the port of entries for where she traveled?

There are still two months left for February 2025 applications as per the IRCC Processing time.

If after two months, you have not heard anything, your application may be deemed as complex or they need to check more things on the application for security reasons.
Yeah, I understand that but it says two months since January, nothing's changing. I have sent a web form to IRCC and they said they are working to interview my spouse, but it is taking a longer time and they will get back to me. Also, we applied for open work permit and in dec my spouse went to India and we did not think that he can loose his status and now he might not get approved for his work permit.

It sounds like your file is considered complex since they are looking for an interview. Hopefully it will get sorted out once an interview has happened. Good luck.

We got response from IRCC, they are asking for my spouse's interview (applicant), unfortunately they want the in person interview, but my husband is in Canada on visitor status. Not sure what to do now. Does anybody know if they could take the telephone, zoom or teams interview, or it has to be in person? We have already emailed though if they could consider that. They have given us a date for interview on May 19.

I think since covid they are doing video interviews but I can't say 100% due to his location they send him to a location in Canada

Hi Everyone, I have applied for my wife's Outland PR on 12th March, awaiting AOR. I am currently in India for a visit since March 27, is this gonna affect the application process? How long can I stay?

I stayed in canada for nearly 2 years before this visit.

I am not sure what to suggest but if immigration is asking for an in person interview I would go in person. If he is already here on a visitor status I would think he would be ok to return again, unless there is another complication like he has over-stayed on the visitor visa.

Dear $$$$$$$$$$
Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada
I have reviewed your application for a permanent resident visa as a member of the family class. I have concerns that you may not meet the requirements for immigration to Canada.

Subsection 12(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act states that a foreign national may be selected as a member of the family class on the basis of their relationship as the spouse, common-law partner, child, parent or other prescribed family member of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.

Subsection 117(1) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, defines who is a member of the family class. A foreign national is a member of the family class if, with respect to a sponsor, the foreign national is

(a) he pono poe, common-law partner or conjugal partner; (b) a dependent child of the sponsor;
[]

Paragraph 117(9)(c)(i) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations states that no foreign national may be considered a member of the family class by virtue of their relationship to a sponsor if the foreign national i he pono poe and he sponsor or the foreign national was, at the time of their marriage, the spouse of another person.

Following a request for submissions sent to you 18 January 2026, I am not satisfied on balance that you/your sponsor has provided the documentation requested to establish that his previous two marriages were legally dissolved prior to the marriage with you. While polygamy is legal in Pakistan, it is not legal in Canada and for your marriage to be recognized for immigration purposes, all of your sponsors previous marriages must have been correctly legally dissolved in the relevant jurisdiction. Subsequently, I have concerns that you are in an excluded relationship as prescribed by the Regulations and do not meet the definition of a spouse. As a result, I have concerns that you are not a member of the family class.

Subsection 11(1) of the Act provides that a foreign national must, before entering Canada, apply to an officer for a visa or any other document required by the regulations. The visa or document shall be issued if, following an examination, the officer is satisfied that the foreign national is not inadmissible and meets the requirements of this Act.

The onus is on you to satisfy me that an immigrant visa can be issued to you. I would therefore request that you send any information or documents which you consider might respond to this concern within 15 days from the date of this letter.

Subsection 5 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, states that a foreign national shall not be considered
b) the spouse of a person if
i) the foreign national or the person was, at the time of their marriage, the spouse of another person

I must also advise you that failure to disabuse me of my concern will lead to the refusal of your application.

Are both the divorce certificates dated BEFORE your marriage to your spouse?

If not, they are telling you your marriage is not recognized. You may need a lawyer (see below), but what you'll really need is to get married again.

If they are both dated before the marriage, then you need a lawyer, because they don't seem to believe that the marriages were legally dissolved.

(Note that the issue of recognition of foreign divorces can be a bit complex - you may need someone to attest that they were legal divorces, which I believe is in the instructions).

Hello Guys, please is there a tracker for September 2025 Inland applicants. Have received no feedback since i received the AOR in October 2025. Thank you
