Hi Evryone,

How do i go about with the open work permit application to be submitted together with the sponsorship application?

please help. Its kindda confusing. ???

thanks in advance.

Hi frappCcino,

I'm also being sponsored by my husband whose a Canadian PR and our lawyer sent my Open Work Permit application together with the rest of the application forms.

I was also told by my lawyer that it doesn't matter even if you put in a name of a potential employer (assuming you've known them before applying), CIC won't expedite the application.

Hi guys. One again we have received a letter stating that wwe have to get my husband's fbi background check.

My question is that what information is included in an fbi check?. As employment? Arrests and what else?

Does it include marital status alao?.

Thanks

Hi! No background check from the FBI is just to see if he has a criminal record that's it.

Hi guys!

Ok so my husband was asked to redo his meds which he did and they got them today (according to the courrier service tracking). They were sent in France.

His file switched to "in process" Since they requested for the meds. Any idea how long it will take to hear from them?

Help please

I am a Canadian citizen and I got married to a Romanian citizen. We will start our sponsorship forms shortly! How long will it take for him to be able to start school and work? And also if you have any extra tips, it would be perfect! Thanks!

Which visa office are you going to use?

I am not sure the one in Montreal...do you have any suggestions? :)

If you are applying for inland processing it would be vegreville. Montreal only handles files transferred to it from vegreville.

For the egyptian application, it is required the Family composition certificate "Elkeed el a'ely"

Is it for the sponser family, or for the applicant family?

I.e me (sponser) and my spouse (aplicant) and kids, or my spouse father and mother and brothers and sisters?

Thanks guys for your support :)

And how long will it take untill I cand start studying??

If you are the Canadian citizen, you can study any time you like. If you are the foreign national, you can apply for a study permit but you will need to pay international tuition rates. Once you become a permanent resident, you will be eligible for the resident tuition rates.

I am married to a canadian citizen and I will start my sponsoship proceedure and I wanted to know how long it will take to get my study and work permit :)

If you're applying inland, then about 11 months before you can get a work permit, and you should not leave the country until you receive your PR (currently about 19 months, according to CIC's site).

If you have an acceptance letter from a Canadian educational institution, you can apply for a study permit now. You will be subject to the normal scrutiny (financial support, etc.) If you are applying inland, once you have AIP a study permit (or open work permit) provided. The posted time right now is 11 months for that first step of the process.
