Mine were more than 30 days once, so I sent an email to ATIP-AIPRP @ cic.gc.ca stating when I sent the request and asking why it had been more than 30 days (sometimes it takes longer but they are supposed to send you a letter notifying you and telling you the reason for the delay). I also attached a scanned copy of my receipt for the $5 as it proved payment and when it was sent. I received the notes the very next day.
thank you so much for the reply. Ill send them an email right now. Thanks again

I sent the email just now, I received an automated msg that the processing times may be affected by the strike . This could be the reason. Totally forgot about the strike

Not a sponsorship issue but i just want to ask for clarification.

A friend of mine got her refusal letter on friday for her restoration of status. she is a TFW. My question is,what's next after the letter? is it the removal? what if she is broke and can't afford to buy for her airfare back to the Phils.? any enlightenment would be appreciated. thank u so much.

Can anyone give us a concrete answer on this:

Last night, my wife told me that outland applicants are prioritized in terms of whether or not the family resides is currently living in the same country. For our case, I am on a visa living in my wife's country while applying outland. My wife has read on a Chinese website that those outland applicants who are currently separated (geographically) get first priority. IS this true?

If she is out of status and her application to restore has been denied, she needs to leave. Did she receive a Departure Order (form number IMM 5238)? If she did, she needs to leave within 30 days and have her departure verified by an immigration officer at the airport. If she doesn't leave, her departure order will turn into a deportation order and when immigration catches up with her, she will be deported, may be banned from Canada for some time and will certainly have a problem getting a visa if she wants to return.

I have seen no evidence of this being the case. It certainly didn't appear to apply in my application. There is very little anecdotal information on the internal policies of CIC with regards to processing priority and even less documented.

It seems to be right up there with the "if I make an inquiry about my application, the VO will get angry and delay my process" theory :)

Hello Guys & Gals,

This question is related to the outland spousal application.

Q1 . When will CIC return the orignal educational documents ?Will they return the documents after stage 1 or will they keep them by the end of the application process?

Q2. Also how many photos do I need to submit with the application. So far I have collected 80 comprises ( 3 types ceremonies related to wedding + honeymoon+ general outting like going to cinemas restaurants etc)

Waiting for your responses....

Once the COPR is issued your documents get returned to you less the application itself.

How many photos you submit is up to you. The whole idea is to show that your relationship to your spouse is legitimate. Photos of your wedding ceremony and photos of the both of you taken with friends and family or on vacation are all good examples.

Personally, I found that not to be the case. Of all the documents we sent, including pictures, all we got back was a "local authority" bill and a single Christmas card. They kept (or destroyed) everything else.

Agreed. Not all VOs return evidence. We got zero back. So only include evidence you're willing to never see again. If you have a card you want to include but don't want to lose the original - send a photocopy.
