Hi all, I have a small question in filling forms about 'The period of cohabitation'.
How can I fill the date of 'To' if I'm currently in cohabitation with my sponsor?
(Same trouble happened on 'To' date of 'Duration of current country of residence' in OWP application. I want to say 'present')

Should I fill in the prospective date that I submit application?
Or Should I leave blank?
Or Should I write 'Present' in hand writing? (I know it's not professional looking but the most accurate)

I'd appreciate any advise. Thanks!
In our case, i just hand-wrote in "present" after printing out the form.

In the 'To' space, just write the day on which u completed the particular form. That's what the call center agent told me

I currently reside in Canada and am sponsoring my wife and dependent child from Colombia who are in Medellin. I am following the specific country checklist and I will require a background criminal check for my wife as per the checklist. The instructions states that she needs a file number before proceeding with a criminal background check. Is the file number given to me after the sponsorship approval in Canada or will she be requested to go to the Canadian Embassy in Bogota? I have also came across this website which is some sort of processing centre in Bogota that forwards the documents to the Embassy in Bogota. Has anybody had any experience with the VAC centre in Bogota and is it a mandatory procedure for sponsoring my family to Canada? Thanks
The file number will be given to you upon sponsor approval. VACs are not used for PRs as far as I understand. Normally they are for temporary visas (work, study, visit).

It shouldn't be a problem, though I have seen visa officers raise issues of age difference once in a while (there is an 18 years age difference between me and my spouse, but we were approved anyway.)

I think it's a cultural thing too. In a western country it wouldn't be seen as an issue at all, but perhaps in some countries where its very rare for big age differences, an older woman marrying younger man, marrying outside same religion etc etc... it could be seen as a red flag as it doesn't meet the norms of the culture.

I agree. In addition, it can often relate to the cultural biases of the visa officer.

Hi there all!

Just a quick question about the employment letter I am supposed to include for the inland residency application (I am the sponsor). I filed my taxes this year as self-employed, because technically I am. I work privately for families and am paid in personal cheques. I don't receive T4s or anything. But technically I am working for someone else, I just handle all my own scheduling and however much money needs to be taken out of my cheques for taxes, etc. I only worked between September and December on 2012, for one family. I'm wondering am I supposed to include an employment letter from them even though I am self employed? I am so confused about this. Also, I still have not received my bill from Canada Revenue, and I am wondering of I can call to get my Option C, for the 2012 year, before I pay my taxes? This is making me so crazy and confused. Any help is appreciated.

My understanding is, that the Visa-exempt countries' citizens do not need to send their passports the the visa office. They only receive a confirmation letter from the visa office which they use for landing.

Am I right? Please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks

SOME of them require the actual passport, SOME of them will require a copy of it e-mailed.

And some are using the passport copies already sent in with the application. I hope this is a new process and they keep it up.... :)

I agree... there is a 21 year difference between my wife and myself and we were approved in 90 days. Go figure... I was expecting the red flag to show but didn't. I guess it would all depend on who and where and what mood they are in.

Hi All,

I have few confusing questions:

1. Who are dependents in Spouse application? (It confuses me, because in Application 008ENU_2D says: "DEPENDENTS: You must provide following details about each of your family members, whether they will be accompanying you in Canada or not" )

Application:

Am I as sponsor responsible to fill out all applications (shown below) and send to immigration office here in Canada:

Part 1: Sponsorship forms

As sponsor, you are responsible for completion of the first set of forms.
The principal applicant is responsible for the rest. You then send them all to CPC-M.
Dependents are defined in the accompanying documents.

Zardoz thank you, but do I send all her applications together with mine here to Canada or:

- I send mine here to Canada
- She send her to Vienna
- I send mine to Canada and She send her to Canada
