Hello every one i received my first stage sponsorship approval from ottawa piolet project. And in the email they said that my file has been sent to the VO abroad for further processing. My question is that should i assume that my file is really being transfered to ISL or is it still sitting in ottawa? If it is still in Ottawa does it reduce the processing time? How long should I wait for the AOR from Isl? Answers are highly appreciated? Is there any one who received their first stage approval from Ottawa, and how long you are waiting for stage 2 approval?

I have to take my medical exam on the November 6.It seems so far away because I received my approval letter in October 12 and the CIC asked for medical exam. Its going to take a while before the CIC receive that medical exam, they might receive it around December.I hate when the application have to stop for that long :(.

I will take the exam in Ottawa,it will cost 180$, with 3 passport photos and I have to bring all my immigration papers. It will take 3-4 weeks for the result, that's a long way to wait.:( hopefully I think everything will be fine

For family class, the only grounds for medical rejection are "thread to public health" or "thread to public safety". From my reading, the only things that fall into this category are TB and Syphilis, although I can think of other things that would also qualify (Ebola or Marburg, for example.) TB is probably the worst because they don't refuse you - they just won't approve you until you've been free of active TB for a year.

The other medical refusal category ("excessive demand") is not applicable to the spousal/partner class sponsorship as partners are exempt from same.

Thanks for the answer but I'm not really worried about the result for the exam :).Im more worried about the time,Because my application is stop processing, they re waiting for the result of the medical exam which is not done yet.I have to go for the exam in two weeks. That will be a long process

Probably 6-8 weeks yes. Sorry - I know the waiting can be terrible. My last application was a model of "make sure they have absolutely everything they could possibly ever need". I'm sure that helped, although the baseball bat approach helped as well. :D

Where is the spread sheet on spousal sponsorship? Can some one please send me the link.

I wish ND issues visa to my husband sooner so that he can join me before his birthday....
I wonder sending them an email does make any difference or not? Any suggestions !!

See my signature for the list of every single one of them on this forum. And for emailing ND, I have read they don't usually reply to e-mails sadly :(

Yes you can assume that, (although there is ONE current rare case on this forum where that didn't happen). It is VERY rare for anyone here to receive an AOR from the VO office, I believe HK is one office that sends those. Stage 2 depends on the VO office sent to, find the thread specific to yourself and follow that one.

It takes 2.5 months to approve him as sponsor. Then the amount of time it requires depends upon his particular case and the visa office processing his spouse's application.

Unless he was sponsored in the spousal class, the five year bar will not apply to him. It will apply to his future spouse, however.
