Hi All,

I have applied for Permanent residency under Inland Spousal Sponsorship class for my spouse and submitted information sheet for previous medical examination along with the application (Medical done in September 2021)

Does my spouse have to do the re medicals? The policy says you are exempt if you did your medicals within the last 5 years.

Should I just send the previous medicals via webform along with RPRF fee receipt again?

Update: They accepted my spouse's previous medical exam from September 2021. Already updated on GCKey. I sent this via webform.

November 16th 2022 : Medical request
November 22nd 2022 : Biometric request
November 24th 2022 : Biometric received
Desember 7th 2022 : Pre arrival letter (email)

I will keep them updated! They're really speeding up all of the application guys! Wish us luck! Please share your timeline too!!

Hello there friends
I'm new here and I'm trying to figure out this whole thing now so please be patient with me

I recently got married after long years of long distance relatioship my spouse is living in a different country that needs canadian visa

I got couple questions :

How long is the application processing times as of today?
As I saw on the website it says 18 month
But I don't wanna believe that, (lol)
If you can give me a correct link to check
Processing time for a spouse sponsorship that would be great !! I rememer it was 6-8 month now it says year and half that's a big jump

Second question is

Can I be living and working utside of Canada
While this process is going on?

I have a job offer from Ireland might have to go there and work there in two month or so
If I start this application proccess now in Canada
Will I be able to go and work in ireland and keep up with application from there?

If you are a citizen, yes, if you are a PR, no.

Apply sooner rather than later. The processing time is what it is, and worrying about how long it will take doesn't speed things up.

Ntoe, estimated processing times might well be overstated, and if your spouse is EU/Irish passport (for example) good chances it will be quicker, posibly substantially so (security checks easier for NATO/EU, police checks reasonably trusted, and concerns about fake relationships somewhat lower for rich countries - which mostly/entirely coincides with visa waiver countries, which don't require visas because percent overstaying and other immigration problems is low).

Note, if your spouse is from a visa waiver country (but an ETA instead), can come and spend time with you, the primary restriction is inability to work.
