My girlfriend is trying to make an gckey account to apply for a visitor visa so we can get married in canada and I can sponsor her as my spouse. Should she label her Intentions " to visit" or " to move" to canada .

Tourism purpose - provide proofs as well (Expedia hotel booking, greyhound refundable tickets etc) for visitor visa application.

Hi. I just want to ask if anybody here withdrawn the sponsorship application? I just had mine a couple of weeks ago and it is now showing in ecas. I am wondering how could I get the refund of my payment. Do I need to request for a refund or the IRCC will automatically return it to my account?

Visit. If you're applying for a visitor visa and tell them you're actually moving/using the visa to move, that guarantees you get denied.

Can she apply for an open work permit if we apply outland?

No. OWP is only for inland.

Yes. She can come on a visitor visa, get married, and then you apply inland + OWP. OWP application gives her implied status past the expiry of her 6 month visitor status (just make sure you apply while she's still in status) and it will be approved within 4 months from applying.

I sent paper application to Case Processing Centre: Sydney, Nova Scotia, to sponsor my wife outside Canada and they received my letter in the end of November (according to Canada post tracking number). No one contact me up to now. how long it takes for them to respond.

AOR can take up to three months so you still have some time to go. If you pass the three month mark without receiving the AOR, go ahead and give them a call and see what's up.

Hello everyone and thanks in advance for any help you might offer. I am trying to help my brother with the paperwork to sponsor his wife who is overseas. I have followed directions to complete the application (as best as I can) and we have all the documents needed to submit the paper work.

Because of the distance involved and the time it takes to get the official documents in her native country, some of those documents are 4-6 months old. Do you think this will present a problem when processing the application? I don't want to send in the application only to have it rejected because of the time frame.

Any ideas or suggestions are welcomed.

Everything has been done as per regulations. All documents have been translated and notarized. I am asking about the dates on the documents (Sep. 7th 2018) and whether ICC will consider them to be too old.
